Braylon is the type of linebacker every defense wants in the middle of the field — physical, instinctive, and constantly around the football. He plays with a downhill mentality, triggering quickly against the run and attacking gaps before plays can develop. When he sees the ball, he doesn’t hesitate, and that urgency shows up in how consistently he finishes tackles in space.

On film, what stands out most is his toughness and pursuit. Braylon plays sideline to sideline with strong effort, rarely taking plays off, and he shows the ability to track down ball carriers even when the play breaks outside. He’s disciplined in reading his keys, which allows him to stay in position and make clean, decisive stops rather than chasing the action.

He also brings value as a physical tackler who wraps up and brings real pop on contact. Whether it’s meeting running backs in the hole or stepping up on short throws over the middle, he plays with controlled aggression and confidence. As he continues to refine his coverage skills and expand his range in space, his impact will only grow.

With SMU, Tennessee, Notre Dame, and Mississippi State in his top group, Braylon is clearly a highly valued defensive piece. Can SMU Get Braylon to become a mustang, we will find out on June 26.

Braylon is a 4-star linebacker who plays with a relentless motor and brings a physical edge every time he steps on the field. He’s quick to read action in front of him and fires downhill immediately, often getting involved in the play early before blockers can climb to the second level. What stands out most is how fast he closes space—once he sees the ball carrier, he accelerates and finishes with authority.

He’s not just a straight-line defender either; Braylon shows the ability to adjust in pursuit and stay active when plays bounce outside, keeping pressure on the offense from sideline to sideline. In traffic, he plays tough and doesn’t back down from contact, consistently fighting through blocks to stay around the ball. He brings a steady, aggressive presence to the defense, the kind of linebacker who makes offenses feel him on every snap without needing flashy moments to prove his impact.

Braylon is a developing linebacker who brings energy, toughness, and consistent effort to the defensive side of the ball. He plays with an active mindset, showing the willingness to engage in traffic and work through contact to get to the football.

His biggest strength is his motor and physical approach. Braylon plays with urgency from snap to whistle, consistently chasing plays and staying involved even when the action moves away from him. That effort level allows him to be a steady presence in pursuit.

He shows encouraging instincts and reaction skills, beginning to recognize run keys and flow more efficiently to the ball. As his reads continue to sharpen, his ability to arrive earlier and make more impactful plays will increase.

In space, Braylon is still developing his coverage and lateral movement, but he shows the willingness to learn and compete in those situations. His physicality helps him finish plays when he arrives, especially in tight areas.

With official visits scheduled to Mississippi State, Baylor, Kentucky, and SMU, Braylon is gaining steady recruiting attention as a linebacker with upside and a strong work ethic.

Braylon is a linebacker whose tape shows a player with strong instincts and a natural feel for finding the football. He plays with good urgency downhill and doesn’t hesitate when he reads run—once he sees it, he triggers quickly and commits to the play.

On film in the run game, Braylon stands out for how fast he diagnoses blocking schemes and fills gaps with intent. He shows solid physicality at contact and isn’t afraid to step into traffic to make plays at or near the line of scrimmage. His ability to scrape and stay involved in pursuit keeps him around the ball consistently.

In pass situations, his tape shows a linebacker who is improving in coverage awareness. He can drop into zones and stay disciplined with his eyes on the quarterback, helping take away quick throws underneath. When he’s asked to match in space, he competes and stays engaged, even if he’s still developing consistency in those matchups.

Braylon, a 4-star linebacker with offers from SMU, Baylor, Kentucky, Mississippi State, and Arizona State, also impressed with his coverage skills at camp. He showed the ability to drop back smoothly into coverage, reading the quarterback’s eyes and reacting quickly to routes developing in front of him. His length and athleticism allowed him to cover ground effectively, making it tough for receivers and tight ends to find space. I

Williams showcased why he’s one of the most promising young linebackers in the 2027 class with an outstanding sophomore campaign. A true sideline-to-sideline playmaker, Williams possesses the speed to cover ground quickly and the instincts to anticipate plays before they develop. He plays with exceptional leverage and consistently makes sound tackles in the open field. His efforts earned him the prestigious title of District 8-6A Defensive Player of the Year, and his talent has already drawn offers from powerhouse programs such as Texas, Colorado, Arkansas, Baylor, Oklahoma, and Tennessee. Williams is a name to watch as his star continues to rise.

Williams has a stout, powerful build, with broad shoulders, he has a large wingspan and he has all the tools that elite defenders at the linebacker position possess. He has great instincts, he plays under control with patience, he plays fast and when he sees it he closes quickly eating up ground to the ball carrier. Williams performed well during the combine testing, showing speed, power and burst in the 40 yard dash, he moved fluidly through the cone drills and his ability to shift his weight and change directions quickly at 6’1 225 pounds showed that he has the athleticism to compete at a high level. Braylon was sticky in pass coverage, he uses his length to get hands on receivers and he won multiple reps that included several pass deflections. Williams has a complete skill set, he is a three down linebacker who has a seek and destroy type of game. Braylon was a defensive starter at Arlington Lamar in 2023 and will be a key returner for the Vikings defense this fall. Williams has offers from, SMU, UNT, Texas Tech, Baylor, Nebraska, UTEP, Arkansas and Utah. He is one the top defenders in the 2027 class and he had an MVP performance at the PRZ Combine.

Braylon is a 6-foot, 200-pound linebacker coming out of the Lone Star State that is already getting looks from some highly prestigious power 5 programs. He has proven to be the complete package at linebacker with his explosiveness, speed, and physicality. Braylon’s explosiveness helps to make him a sure tackler and play maker, and his speed allows him to get to the ball no matter where it is on the field. Braylon also has some of the best football instincts that I have seen coming out of this class, he just knows how to make plays when he is out there on the field. With all of that being said, it is no surprise that he is already starting to get looks from schools the caliber of TCU and Texas. With the current trajectory that Braylon is on, it’s not too farfetched to think he could be a top 50 prospect in Texas down the line.
