Loftin had a great sophomore campaign with 791 receiving yards, which was good for first on the team, and 11 touchdowns, which was one shy of being tied for the team lead. On defense, he finished with 32 tackles for the year, with 1 tackle for loss. He also recorded an interception in coverage, and deflected 3 passes. He currently holds three D1 offers. Look for that number to go up soon.

Loftin actually led Fike in receiving yards last year, with nearly 100 more than Loatman, finishing with 791. He also added 11 TD’s on the year. If defenses start to focus on Loatman too much, Loftin could burn them as well with his 14.6 yards per catch on 54 receptions. Loftin has added three D1 offers in the offseason, including Campbell. This trio willbe hard to contend this fall.

Last month, Loftin’s recruitment got started with his first FBS offer. It was well-deserved after a strong 2025 campaign that included a conference-leading 800 receiving yards and double-digit touchdowns. This top five is so close, but Loftin gets the slightest of nods at the top thanks to a well-rounded skill set and complete route tree.

Loftin was everywhere as a freshman, catching 19 passes on offense and picking off four passes on defense. We like him best as a safety right now. It’s easy to find dozens of 6’2″ receivers, but not many tall safeties move as easily as he does. He was excellent at taking advantage of obvious passing situations defensively. If he can improve his reactions and ability to read the offense, he’s going to be an excellent prospect.

While Loftin played both sides of the ball as a freshman, I think his future lies in the defensive backfield, where his length can be suffocating. He’s played mostly as a free safety where his instincts have allowed him to make plays against the pass. As he gets bigger, he should get more aggressive in the run game and become a more complete player.
