There was much to like about Bobo Decato’s game aside from his natural size. Decato was opposed by a wide 9 and did an excellent job of keeping his post foot to avoid getting beat to the inside, while safe guarding against the outside speed rush. Once his matchup dared to cross face him, Decato simply buried him by burying his face into his oblique and pummeling him down the line. Decato’s footwork can stand to improve, however. For every time I saw him get beat, he tended to grab and toss his matchup – a surefire penalty each time out.

Heading to the Offensive Lineman position we have Bobo Decato. The New England Prep Redzone Next top performer has an elite frame standing at 6’5″ 334-Pounds, which makes him an immediate threat for any team. My colleague Vic Castillo Vic Castillo 6'3" | 220 lbs | ATH/QB Central | 2028 watched the lineman and was impressed with the composure and skills the prospect displayed. I liked his footwork, along with his hand placement and strength he utilized to hold off physical, fast lineman.

Decato – a ton of mass. 14 years old, likely a relative unknown since he’s out of New Hampshire. 6’5″, 330 pounds, does not look like a sloppy 330. Has a lot to learn, as every offensive lineman present had as well. Was top three in line for MVP consideration. If he can develop proficient traits stacked on top of his unreal size and power, I deem him offer ready. Some coaches might question his future level of competition. Excited to rank him in New England in time.

Bobo Decato is a player in the trenches who you need to know about and someone I encourage anyone at the New Jersey event to watch close. Decato is out of the 2030 class, and I expect him to really use his impressive size and ability to make plays in the trenches. Bobo Decato delivered a highly impressive performance at the recent Prep Red Zone NEXT Showcase, showcasing the kind of raw physical tools and competitive demeanor that immediately catch the eye of college coaches. Decato possesses an imposing, wide-shouldered frame with natural mass that projects well to both offensive and defensive line roles at the next level. He carries his weight effectively and already looks the part. Decato moved surprisingly well for a man his size throughout the position-specific drills. He displayed solid foot quickness and change-of-direction ability and mirroring portions of the workout. While he is not a twitchy, sub-5.0 short shuttle type, his overall mobility and body control stood out among the bigger bodies in attendance. He consistently stayed balanced and did not labor when asked to redirect or recover. Decato consistently won the initial hand fight, delivering heavy, well-placed strikes that allowed him to control or redirect opponents effectively. He showed good grip strength and the ability to lock on and sustain when he got his hands inside. Decato looked most natural and dominant in the run-game simulations. He plays with a wide, powerful base and drives his feet on contact, generating meaningful movement off the ball.
