Bobo Decato delivered a highly impressive performance at the recent Prep Red Zone NEXT Showcase, showcasing the kind of raw physical tools and competitive demeanor that immediately catch the eye of college coaches. Decato possesses an imposing, wide-shouldered frame with natural mass that projects well to both offensive and defensive line roles at the next level. He carries his weight effectively and already looks the part. Decato moved surprisingly well for a man his size throughout the position-specific drills. He displayed solid foot quickness and change-of-direction ability and mirroring portions of the workout. While he is not a twitchy, sub-5.0 short shuttle type, his overall mobility and body control stood out among the bigger bodies in attendance. He consistently stayed balanced and did not labor when asked to redirect or recover. Decato consistently won the initial hand fight, delivering heavy, well-placed strikes that allowed him to control or redirect opponents effectively. He showed good grip strength and the ability to lock on and sustain when he got his hands inside. Decato looked most natural and dominant in the run-game simulations. He plays with a wide, powerful base and drives his feet on contact, generating meaningful movement off the ball.
