Metzger may have put together the best performance out of anyone in the state during the Sectional Championships. His efficiency, big plays, and ability to move the ball were on full display. He only had 4 incomplete passes on the night as he completed 81% of his passes for 317 yards and 6 TDs. He had more TD passes than incompletions in a playoff game, and that’s as impressive as anything else.

Metzger has quietly had a very productive career and is starting to make noise in the recruitment world. It’s hard to see how efficient he was again Friday and not point it out. He’s a 3-year starter that the team trusts. He helped Central beat Logansport 23-20 in a great game on Friday, but Metzger was clutch and dialed in when it counted most. He finished the night with 279 yards and 3 TDs, but what I was most impressed with was his poise in the pocket.
