Vinson is a long and rangy linebacker that can play either inside or outside at the next level and is currently on his way to Golden West College. He has the ideal frame and size for the next level with good length and can cover a ton of ground quickly. He is a very active tackler that has a high football IQ and triggers quickly to ball carriers while exploding through contact and playing with violence. He can quickly get off blocks, scrape over the top and flows well to the ball while always looking to cause turnovers and get the ball out. He should make an immediate impact at a Junior College level and is a definite four year school guy.

The North linebackers did a good job preventing the South running backs from getting past the second level. Vinson and Jake Brooks of Brea Olinda had nice games.

Vinson has great length for the linebacker position, and is a rangy explosive and physical player that can cover in space, trigger in tight windows and provides a nice pass rush form the second level. On tape, he shows that he can trigger downhill quickly, tracks down ball carriers backside and takes good angles in the open field while also providing a pass rush both on the edge and up the middle. Vinson should have another impact Senior season for El Dorado and is one of the better regional players to watch out for.

Vinson offers some of the highest physical upside of any LB at Sunday’s showcase with his impressive combination of size (6’3″/215), athleticism, and range. He moves well showing good straight-line speed and lateral quickness, and eats up space with his natural length. He’s the top returning tackler for El Dorado in the fall after totaling 83 as a junior along with 10 TFLs and a team-leading 4 sacks. Vinson’s an intriguing LB prospect to keep an eye on in the fall.

Vinson is a big linebacker who can flat out tackle.
He had two interceptions last seasons and I am interested in seeing him compete in pass coverage Sunday.
