Expert Analysis
Matt Tate | Prep Redzone Scout
Swedlund is the heir apparent for Heritage high school. The 6’4 205-pound QB has some great intangibles. Good athletic ability due to good speed, acceleration, change of direction, and balance. Very good throw power paired with a very quick release. Smooth throwing motion. Swedlund goes through his progressions and finds the open man. If no one’s open, he’ll use his good scramble ability to get open. Very good ball placement skills. He throws it in stride with his receiver, so they don’t lose speed. Very good pocket mobility. He stays poised under pressure and shifts around easily. I’m very excited to see Swedlund in a starting varsity role.

Though Swedlund is expected to sit for another year, his long term potential is clear. He already has one of the strongest arms in the 2028 class, capable of making throws to all areas of the field with precision and velocity. Swedlund excels in off platform situations, showing the ability to throw on the run and extend plays when the pocket collapses. His football IQ is impressive, as he dissects coverages and delivers the ball where only his receiver can get it. Once given the reins, expect Swedlund to quickly grab attention from scouts and be a breakout candidate waiting to impress.
