Expert Analysis
Matt DeBary | Prep Redzone Scout
A Gwinnett County defensive lineman on the rise up on Sugar Hill, Jones is a promising interior defensive tackle with plenty of size and natural strength at 6-foot-2 290-pounds. He fires off the snap, plays with good leverage, and was a consistent defender in the trenches last year for Lanier. He showed a lot of promise and has a chance to have a giant sophomore season if he continues to work hard and develop his technique. He played really well for a freshman and ended the 2024 season with 26 tackles. Look for those numbers to increase in a big next in his second season this upcoming fall. Jones is ranked in the latest update as the No. 11 DL prospect and the No. 55 overall prospect in the state for the 2028 class.

A fast-rising interior defensive lineman to know out of Gwinnett County, this big, strong freshman more than held his own last year in the trenches. He brings a heavy 6-foot-2 290-pound frame and was tough to handle for opposing offensive linemen all season long. He’s a stout run defender who plays hard and ended his freshman season with 26 tackles and one pass deflection. His best football is way ahead of him and he’ll be added to the next 2028 Prep Redzone rankings this summer.
