Montgomery brings a speed element that immediately stresses a defense. What he does well is hit top gear quickly — once he sees daylight, he can erase pursuit angles in a hurry. He’s explosive through the first two levels and shows the ability to turn routine carries into chunk plays. His acceleration forces defenders to take wider paths, and that opens up cutback lanes he takes advantage of with sharp, efficient footwork. In space, he doesn’t need much room to create separation.
