Stats: 12 Carries, 224 Yards, 3 TDs
What a week from the River Ridge senior athlete! Andrew averaged just short of 19 yards/carry in Week 6 on the way to a dominant win over Boscobel. Andrew plays the FB role in the River Ridge option attack and he excels in that situation. Nies runs downhill with a head of steam, taking the punch to the defense, running behind his pads, and pumping his legs until the defense finally swarms him to drag him down. Andrew’s contact balance and ability to rip through arm tackles was on full display too as he piled up the yards after contact while wearing down the Boscobel defense. Nies capitalized on all his carries on the way to an elite stat line. Tap into the film of the hidden gem of as senior RB/LB prospect.

Stats: 10 Tackles, 2 TFLsrnAndrew has been a consistent two way contributor for River Ridge this season. Today, we focus on his defensive work. The 6′ and now 185 lbs LB was able to put together a good game on defense despite the wet, slippery conditions. My major takeaway was how well Andrew navigates the trash that is between the tackles. He uses lateral movement to adjust his positioning so he can stay square to the line if he needs to take on a block or make the tackle. Nies reads the flow of the OL well, moves with it, and does a good job of finding ways to slip through unblocked so he can make the tackle. Nies looked to be a reliable run stuffer between the tackles, and a FB who can get the tough yards between the tackles on offense too.
