Upside. Upside. Upside. The story of how a 6-foot-8 defensive lineman from a basketball power ended up a Power Four commit is exactly what you’d think. After Moore moved to Harrell’s Christian early to play basketball, a football coach noticed his frame and suggested he try football. He immediately thrived. In his second season, he had six sacks and 14 tackles for loss. He’ll need to continue to develop, but he’s newer to football, and his athletic upside is obvious.

Moore is one of the most intriguing high school football prospects we’ve ever covered. Initially, he moved to basketball powerhouse Harrells Christian to play on the hardcourt, but he tried football and realized that’s his best sport. Accordingly, he’s one of the biggest defensive tackles you’ll ever see. He’s a natural, though he’ll continue to work on hand placement, pad level, and some other nuances of the sport. NC State feels like a great fit for one of the most unique and highest-upside prospects in the state.

Moore is a tough evaluation. He’s incredibly raw as a football player because he actually moved to Harrells Christian for basketball. But he recently moved to the gridiron and has had some success as one of the tallest defensive tackles we’ve ever seen. There are questions about competition, but he’s flashed early in his career and has sky-high potential, as evidenced by a slew of SEC offers.

Moore is a freak athlete who plays as a man amongst boys for Harrells Christian. The massive, 6’8″ defensive lineman is also a basketball standout, but we hope he stays on the football field. He has elite power and length, and he towers over most offensive tackles. We’re interested to see how he develops and adjusts to the game.
