Legacy 7 on 7: 2023’s Defense

I got the pleasure of going to Legacy's 7 on 7 practice on January 23rd. I spent time talking with the 2023's that were in attendance as they are in the middle of their high school careers. Here are the defensive 2023's in the Legacy program. <hr /> Shakur Bilal (23' DE) Rich Township - 3.8 GPA Bilal is a name to know in the class of 2023, he gets in the backfield quickly with his use of hands at the point of attack to shed blocks and make the tackle. He gets pressure on the QB and blows up plays with his aggressive play-style. Bilal has room to grow as he has untapped potential, once he does he's going to start getting interest from the next level. James Worthington (23' CB) Brother Rice - 3.0 GPA Worthington stays with his man in coverage and attacks routes where he will fight for the ball making a catch difficult for the receiver to accomplish. He gets off of his blocks to make the tackle and with further development can be another Brother Rice DB that goes to play college ball. Kamari Banks (23' LB) Argo - 2.8 GPA Banks takes solid pursuit angles to make the tackle and doesn't give up on plays. He gets pressure on the QB when he is blitzing and wraps the defender up. He has room to develop further and untapped potential. Kenneth Clark (23' MLB) Rich Township - 4.2 GPA Clark has a solid read step which allows him to take pursuit angles to make the tackle. He flows to the ballcarrier and doesn't give up on plays. <span style="text-decoration: underline;"><em><strong>Notables:</strong></em></span> Jamychael Tims (23' CB) Bremen - 4.6 GPA Khalil Moris (23' DB) Homewood-Flossmoor - 3.4 GPA Jessie Ellis (23' DB) Homewood-Flossmoor - 2.8 GPA Payton Young (23' RB/S) Merriville (IN) - 3.0 GPA Justin Stawczyk (23' DB) St. Rita - 4.58 GPA Hasan Hussein (24' DB/WR) Brother Rice - 3.5 GPA <hr /> This Legacy 2023 team is going to cause problems when they start competing. Each of these players makes plays for their respected teams and aren't going to disappoint in this shortened season. I would like to thank the Legacy 7 on 7 staff for their hospitality and for having me out for their practice. They have a great program that focuses on developing kids for the next level and preparing them for life after football.
