<p><strong><em>#1 Carrollton Trojans</em></strong></p>

<p>After an opening loss to defending 6A Champion Langston Hughes (39-34), the Trojans have won 3 straight games against quality opponents outscoring them 132-13. The 7A State runner ups in '22 look like they are ready to make another run to the Dome. </p>

<p>Player to Know: <strong><em>[player_tooltip player_id='401535' first='Kimauri' last='Farmer']-RB-2026</em></strong> The sophomore has made a splash since taking over the RB1 role due to injury in Week 1. Elusive with good speed. Through the 1st 3 games he had 372 yards with 9 TDs on a team loaded with next level talent. </p>

<p><strong><em>#2 Rome Wolves</em></strong></p>

<p>The only loss for the 6A Wolves this season is to Carrollton (33-13). The Wolves played well in that contest outgaining the Trojans in the stat column but came up short on the scoreboard. They have outscored their other three opponents 138-15. </p>

<p>Player to Know: <strong><em>Joe Wilkinson-SS-2024 </em></strong>The Senior App. State commit has silently gone about being one of the best in our Area on the defensive side of the ball. He will knock your head off and he showed his speed returning an interception 90 yards for a score earlier this season. </p>

<p><strong><em>#3 Calhoun Yellow Jackets </em></strong></p>

<p>3-1 with their only loss coming at Blessed Trinity to open the season (17-7). Have beaten two ranked opponents, Cedartown and Carver Atlanta, in the last month. </p>

<p>Player to Know: <strong>[player_tooltip player_id='334640' first='Caden' last='Williams']-RB-2024 </strong>The Liberty RB commit is one of the toughest runners in the State. Great North South runner that would rather run through you than around you. </p>

<p><strong><em>#4 North Paulding Wolfpack</em></strong></p>

<p>The Wolfpack is off to their 1st 4-0 start since 2019 as they look to defend their Region 3-7A Title. </p>

<p>Player to Know:<strong> Javarius George-WR-2024</strong> The Senior is backing up lasts years 1000 yard season with another great season in his final year. Averaging over 100 yards a game receiving and 150 total yards per game. George will be a steal in the recruiting world this Winter. </p>

<p><strong><em>#5 Cartersville Purple Hurricanes</em></strong></p>

<p>The perineal powerhouse Canes are off to a 4-0 start. They are giving up less than 10 points per game on defense through the 1st month of the '23 season. </p>

<p>Player to Know: <strong>[player_tooltip player_id='667554' first='Jamauri' last='Brice']-ATH-2025</strong> The athletic WR/DB saw his recruiting pick up this offseason and will be one of the most sought after recruits in our Area next Spring. Great speed and hands to go along with a good football IQ.</p>

<p><strong><em>#6 Central Lions</em></strong></p>

<p>The Lions are 4-0 and putting up over 40 points a game behind a very young offense. First year Head Coach Umbrah Brown has done a great job with the young Lions in '23 as they are 4-0 for the 1st time since 2015. </p>

<p>Player to Know:<strong> [player_tooltip player_id='422543' first='Jonaz' last='Walton']-RB-2026</strong> P5 level talent that holds an early UGA offer. Had 200 all purpose yards with 3 TDs in last weeks win over McIntosh.</p>

<p>Player to Know: <strong>Andy Gutierrez-LB-2025</strong> Hard hitting MLB who is under the radar right now but will not be for long.</p>

<p>The Hornets will be looking to go 5-0 this Week for the 1st time since their undefeated season in 2009. Top to bottom one of the most talented rosters in our Area.</p>

<p>Player to Know: <strong>Ryan Strickland-QB-2024 </strong>One of the most efficent QBs in the State through the 1st 3 weeks. 78% completions with 508 yards, the 6'2 Senior is one to put on your radar.</p>

<p><strong><em>#9 Cedartown Bulldogs</em></strong></p>

<p>The 1-3 record doesn't tell the tale. The Bulldogs have played one of the toughest schedules in NW/W Georgia to open the Season. A win over Rockmart and losses to ranked Calhoun and Callaway. No doubt the Bulldogs will be ready come Region play.</p>

<p>Player to Know: <strong>Isiah Johnson-RB/LB-2025</strong> Hard nosed player that led the Bulldogs in tackles v Rockmart and reeled off a 98 yard TD run vs Calhoun last week.</p>

<p><strong><em>#10 Rockmart Yellow Jackets</em></strong></p>

<p>Talk about schedules! The Jackets have played 3 ranked higher classification teams to start the year. They are 1-2 with a win over Cass, a 1 point loss to Cedartown and a overtime loss to Dalton. It doesn't get any easier as they travel to Irwin Co this Friday.</p>
