Prep Redzone Louisiana has picked five players each area of the state to prioritize catching in person this fall.
The series will limit inclusion of teammates in order to incorporate more teams, and older players receive preference with fewer opportunities left to see them before they wrap up their high school careers.
For the sixth segment of the series, here are the “Catch 5 Live” selections for Northeast Louisiana area.
Jackson Bradley Jackson Bradley 6'3" | 200 lbs | QB Oak Grove | 2025 State LA | 6-3, 200 QB | Oak Grove (2025)
The junior is a big, physical athlete now in his third year at the helm of the Tigers’ offense, a clear leader for the perennial title contender and impressing his coaches with his continued development as a passer. Bradley, the son of former Louisiana Tech tight end Josh Bradley, picked up an offer earlier this year from the Bulldogs and has garnered some Power Five interest to monitor this year.
Tate Hamby Tate Hamby 6'1" | 180 lbs | ATH Ouachita Christian | 2024 State LA | 6-1, 180 ATH | Ouachita Christian (2024)
The Eagles, another perennial title contender in the smaller-school divisions, have a long track record of highly productive three-phase, multisport athletes. And Hamby, who committed to Vanderbilt this summer, is the next in that lineage with his work as a safety, receiver and returner that help headline an OCS team leading the Class 1A polls early this season.
Jadon Mayfield Jadon Mayfield 6'1" | 220 lbs | LB Ruston | 2024 State LA | 6-1, 220 LB | Ruston (2024)
The Bearcats’ defense alone could have more than a handful of great candidates for this list, particularly in the front seven where LSU, Tulane and Louisiana Tech all hold commitments. Consider Mayfield, the two-time all-state linebacker already, the face of that group as a whole and a hyper-productive and explosive-tackling one at that with 119 tackles, 10 tackles for loss, 4.5 sacks, two interceptions and two fumble recoveries as a junior.
Jaylon Nichols Jaylon Nichols 5'11" | 170 lbs | RB Neville | 2025 State LA | 5-11, 170 RB | Neville (2025)
Neville has always had its share of talented student-athletes to watch on any given Friday night. The Tigers once again boast several great options, but the hard-running junior tailback fresh off an all-district sophomore campaign and garnering some college attention is as sure a bet from a consistency standpoint as the bell-cow on offense.
Javion White Javion White 5'11" | 180 lbs | ATH Franklin Parish | 2024 State LA | 5-11, 180 DB/WR | Franklin Parish (2024)
The Tulane commit has become the face of a growing run of some promising talent coming through the Patriots’ program at the moment. White’s recruitment took off this offseason, including Missouri, Memphis and others eying him as a likely safety at the next level and the Green Wave seeing some cornerback potential and overall versatility. But he’s also a major weapon on the offensive side of the ball for Franklin Parish who may earn some late attention from colleges as a pass-catcher this fall.
