To go along with our Power Rankings, we at FSP will be choosing one game per weekend to highlight as the Game Of The Week. In Week 1, a 3A-4A crossover matchup takes the cake with two top 10 ranked teams facing off, with the defending back-to-back 4A Champion Lake Stevens Vikings hosting 3A’s exceptionally talented Garfield Bulldogs. The Vikings look to begin their quest for a three-peat by picking up where they left off, and the Bulldogs have a chip on their shoulder as they look to finally capitalize on their loaded cast of potential.
Two of the top 2024 players headline on the Garfield side. All eyes will be on the QB to WR connection of EJ Caminong EJ Caminong 6'2" | 195 lbs | QB Garfield | 2024 State WA and Rahshawn Clark Rahshawn Clark 6'0" | 180 lbs | ATH Garfield | 2024 State WA , two close friends who couldn’t wait til college to play with one another and each feature as the top players at their respective positions in the state. Clark will also feature as a DB and could play on either side of the ball in college. They are joined by a deep list of playmakers who need to step in and dominate to help the Bulldogs approach their ceiling and contend for a title this year. WR Reggie Witherspoon Reggie Witherspoon 5'9" | 160 lbs | WR Garfield | 2024 State WA , RB Reylen Witherspoon Reylen Witherspoon 5'10" | 165 lbs | RB O'Dea | 2026 State WA and DL Elijah Napihaa Elijah Napihaa 6'3" | 320 lbs | OL Garfield | 2024 State WA will be key for them in this matchup too.
On the Lake Stevens side, Kolton Matson Kolton Matson 6'2" | 180 lbs | QB Lake Stevens | 2025 State WA has a major opportunity to continue his winning ways, kicking his junior year off against the top senior quarterback in the state. It’s clear he’s a winner but matching up on the same field as Caminong gives him an opportunity to make his case at the top QB ranking in the State. Scouts love EJ’s athletic upside but Kolton has shown just as much playmaking ability and commands his offense like a truly elite signal caller. Matson is joined by backfield mate and fellow Junior, Running Back Jayshon Limar Jayshon Limar 6'0" | 190 lbs | RB Lake Stevens | 2025 State WA . He looks to prove himself as the top rusher in the 2025 class, fending off several speedsters who’ve taken over the headlines this offseason in Marcus Nixon Marcus Nixon 6'0" | 180 lbs | RB Squalicum | 2025 State WA , Akeem Murph Akeem Murph 5'8" | 170 lbs | RB Rainier Beach | 2025 State WA Jr, and Colton Magruder. The spotlight will be on Matson and Limar as they both have something personal and a major team goal to prove, but DL Naveer Kaile Naveer Kaile 6'1" | 250 lbs | DL Lake Stevens | 2024 State WA , LB Keagan Howard Keagan Howard 6'1" | 215 lbs | LB Lake Stevens | 2025 State WA and WR Cassidy Bolong-Banks Cassidy Bolong-Banks 5'11" | 160 lbs | ATH Cascade | 2025 State WA could also steal the spotlight.
