Hurricane Idalia may have reshuffled some Week 2 games.

Regardless of which teams end up getting to play this weekend, look for another week of standout individual performances.

Here are several Midlands Players to Watch:

[player_tooltip player_id='346199' first='Landon' last='Sharpe'] QB, White Knoll – The junior quarterback opened the season firing, throwing for 287 yards and three touchdowns in the Week 0 road win over Orangeburg-Wilkinson. Following the cancellation of the Week 1 game versus Spring Valley, Sharpe (pictured) looks to keep his name out there Saturday versus Colleton County.

[player_tooltip player_id='1012653' first='Jaylen' last='Jay'] RB, Gilbert – For a week, concerns about replacing [player_tooltip player_id='267430' first='Jaden' last='Allen-Hendrix'] and Alias Graham-Woodberry were allayed after the junior rushed for 223 yards and two touchdowns in the season-opening win over Batesburg-Leesville. He looks to continue that success against South Aiken.

[player_tooltip player_id='997149' first='Azarian' last='Yates'] RB, Crestwood – Head coach Roosevelt Nelson calls him as impactful to the offense as Class 3A All-State quarterback [player_tooltip player_id='589009' first='Javion' last='Martin']. He accounted for four touchdowns, three rushing, in the loss to Gray Collegiate while also playing on defense. He looks to help the Knights rebound against Andrew Jackson.

Torrie Jones RB, Lexington – The Wildcats are another team looking to replace an all-state running back. Rushing for 165 yards and three touchdowns in the win over South Aiken, the junior speedster may look to fill that billing. He faces a Stratford team which allowed 137 rushing yards in the loss to James Island.

[player_tooltip player_id='284134' first='Jayvon' last='Gilmore'] QB, Ben Lippen – The former Ridge View wide receiver has thrived at quarterback for the Falcons with seven touchdowns and 471 yards in his first two games. Up next is a matchup with Pinewood Prep.

Shiver Huggins LB, Camden – The senior had five tackles, two sacks and two fumble recoveries returned for touchdowns (and a third fumble recovery) in the 59-6 rout of Lugoff-Elgin. The Bulldogs' defense will get tested against a Hartsville team which has scored 110 points in two games and will need Huggins' best.

Drew Spires WR, Richard Winn – The senior makes an impact on both sides of the football. In the season-opener against Laurens Academy, he had eight receptions for 172 yards and three touchdowns and returned an interception for a score.

[player_tooltip player_id='473002' first='Cameron' last='McMillon'] QB, Fairfield Central – The sophomore has picked up right where he left off his freshman year, completing nearly 70 percent of his passes for 498 yards and four touchdowns. The Griffins will need plenty of offense this week against Chester.

Antwan Nelson LB, Westwood – The senior running back/defensive back provided a well-needed spark on the ground for the Redhawks in the loss to Lower Richland.

[player_tooltip player_id='440461' first='Harrison' last='Collins'] QB, Blythewood – A four-touchdown performance by the senior helped the Bengals rebound from the season-opening loss to Ridge View and pick up momentum for the backyard brawl with town rival Westwood.

[player_tooltip player_id='139303' first='Cortez' last='Lane'] RB, Cardinal Newman – The Camden transfer provides an offensive balance for the Cardinals with quarterback [player_tooltip player_id='589049' first='Duncan' last='Skehan']. This week, they face newcomer Atlantic Collegiate Academy.

Kyree Etheredge RB, Saluda – The junior opened the season with 134 yards and three touchdowns in a win over Mid-Carolina. He looks to have a similar impact against Ninety-Six.

[player_tooltip player_id='809744' first='John' last='Peeples'] RB, Sumter – The Gamecocks' scoring machine has a team-high seven touchdowns in two games. Up next is a Goose Creek team which is coming off a 54-14 loss to South Florence.

[player_tooltip player_id='272715' first='Brady' last='Albro'] QB, Chapin – Coming off a five-touchdown performance against Mid-Carolina, the junior faces a Spring Valley team which was inactive last week due to COVID-19.
