From a pure talent perspective the Warriors are the most loaded team in the state. Nine starters return on both sides of the ball led by QB Anthony Maddox Anthony Maddox 6'2" | 185 lbs | QB Oak Grove | 2024 State MS offensively and DE Caleb Moore Caleb Moore 6'3" | 250 lbs | DL Oak Grove | 2024 State MS . and CB PJ Woodland PJ Woodland 6'0" | 160 lbs | DB Oak Grove | 2024 State MS defensively.
This week: vs. Wayne County (8/24)
#2. Starkville
The Jackets may have the most offensive talent in the state led by QB/WR duo Trey Petty Trey Petty 6'1" | 190 lbs | QB Starkville | 2024 State MS and Braylon Burnside Braylon Burnside 6'1" | 180 lbs | ATH Starkville | 2024 State MS . Coach Chris Jones will try to take Starkville to back to back titles in the toughest division in the state.
This week: vs. Noxubee County
#3. Brandon
Coach Sam Williams has got the Dogs to the state title game two years in a row but they have been unable to pull off the victory once they get there. The two-headed offensive monster of Landon Varnes Landon Varnes 5'11" | 170 lbs | QB Brandon | 2024 State MS and Nate Blount are back to try to get the job done.

#4. Picayune
Led by Chris Davis Chris Davis 6'0" | 175 lbs | RB Picayune | 2024 State MS and Jamonta Waller Jamonta Waller 6'2" | 230 lbs | DL Picayune | 2024 State MS the Maroon Tide looks to three-peat after moving from 5A to 6A. Picayune brings a 26 game win streak into 2023.

#5. Tupelo
The Golden Wave looks to again be the class of Northeast Mississippi. The Wave returns nearly all of their offensive production led by Jeremiah Harrell Jeremiah Harrell 6'2" | 180 lbs | QB Tupelo | 2024 State MS at QB.
This week: vs. Whitehaven (TN)
#6. Madison Central
It is no secret that the Jags lost a ton of production off of last years squad but Coach Toby Collums feels like he has plenty of talented option. Never count out MC, even in that division. Opportunity to learn a lot about the team in Week 1.

#7. Clinton
The Arrows look to continue to be right in the thick of things in 2-7A. Don’t gorget they knocked off eventual state champ, Starkville, in the regular season last year.

#8. West Point
The Green Wave is the going away favorite after remaining in 5A during this reclassification season. Kahnen Daniels Kahnen Daniels 6'1" | 185 lbs | RB West Point | 2024 State MS projects to be the top offensive player in the classification.
This week: @ Louisville
#9 Ocean Springs
A lot of new faces will be counted on for the Greyhounds down on the coast led by new head coach, Jake Bramlett. The defense returns the majority of production from 2022 but offensively replacing Bray Hubbard is not for the weak of heart.
This week: @ Madison Central
10. South Panola
It’s hard to have any preseason list without including South Panola after their years of dominance. Michael Johnson Michael Johnson 6'3" | 200 lbs | ATH South Panola | 2024 State MS and Julius Pope Julius Pope 6'0" | 195 lbs | ATH South Panola | 2024 State MS are Power 5 level talent who will be depended on offensively.
This week: Houston (TN)
