Change is in the air at Har-Ber High School this season. Missouri Coaching Hall of Fame member Brett Eckley takes over as the head coach at Har-Ber. The Wildcats are looking to improve on a 1-10 record from a season ago. Har-Ber has the talent surprise plenty of folks this upcoming season.

Looking first at the offensive side of the ball for the Wildcats. The Har-Ber Wildcats have three talented prospects competing for snaps at the quarterback position. [player_tooltip player_id='149587' first='Bryce' last='Essex'] saw playing time last season for the Wildcats. He throws an accurate football and is not afraid to escape the pocket and make plays with his legs. Braden Sprague has a strong throwing arm and can keep opposing defenses honest with the deep ball. Aidan Evans is a prospect to keep an eye on over the next couple of seasons. Evans throws the ball with accuracy and is a quarterback that continues to put in the work this offseason.

The Har-Ber rushing attack has the potential to be a unit that will surprise folks this season. [player_tooltip player_id='930070' first='Brock' last='Oktay'] gives the Wildcats a running back that can run the ball with power between the tackles. Meanwhile, Keegan Smith and [player_tooltip player_id='1157296' first='Titus' last='Cramer'] have the speed needed to run between the tackles or cut the run to the outside. Look for the Har-Ber coaching staff to get the running backs involved in the passing game as well.

The Wildcats have experience and talent returning at the wide receiver position this season. Hayden Wood is a wide receiver that can use his athleticism to go up and high point the football. [player_tooltip player_id='1271932' first='Trae' last='Serrano'] and Evan Curry are receivers that do not mind working over the middle and making the tough reception. The wide receivers for the Wildcats are all guys that can make the big play when called upon.

Har-Ber's defensive unit has the potential to have a big impact on games this season. Stephen Alex Reynolds has put in the work all offseason, and I expect him to have a terrific 2023 season. He uses his power well and has the speed to cause problems for the opposing offense. [player_tooltip player_id='930076' first='Keyontae' last='Carter'] is a player that is coming back from injury, and I am intrigued to see what he can do this season on the defensive line.

The Wildcats have talented prospects at the linebacker positions as well as in the secondary. [player_tooltip player_id='929938' first='Dawson' last='Bremer'] amassed over 60 tackles a season ago and he has the talent to surpass that number this season. Greyson Spurlock, Will Langley, [player_tooltip player_id='929947' first='Tony' last='Berry'], and [player_tooltip player_id='568945' first='Cade' last='Clinkscales'] are all players that can force opposing wide receivers to think twice about working routes over the middle. Ashton Steward had a big season at the safety spot last season and a strong season is expected again this season. Talent is there for this team to make the playoffs and cause some trouble for the teams they play this season.
