We received plenty of highlight tapes via Twitter and have a strong group of prospects to review; each of which is on the offensive side of the football. Their upside is tremendous and they most certainly have the potential to play at the next level. Keep an eye out for them as they venture through the 2023 season and look to be even better.
As always, If you have someone you think I need to see, please DM them to me on Twitter at @hsfbscout!
TE: Tate Larsen Tate Larsen 6'3" | 230 lbs | TE Cochrane | 2024 State CAD 6’2″ 235, Cochrane
Larsen has impressive YAC ability and isn’t afraid to get dirty as a blocker. He’s got a violent running style and looks to run through potential tacklers that get in his way. He has steady hands, adequate concentration, and some charged pop behind his punch. He shows above-average acceleration and likes contact. I love the way this kid plays, he has a controlled on-field anger that’s hard to teach.
OL: Caden Struth Caden Struth 6'4" | 250 lbs | DL Ernest Manning | 2024 State CAD 6’3″ 240, Alberta
Struth played on both sides of the football as an offensive lineman and edge rusher. I personally believe his future is on the offensive line and he could be a good one if he continues to add weight and strength. He’s got great feet, terrific body control for the position, and can flat-out move. He’s displayed outstanding grip strength not allowing defenders to disengage and is constantly looking for work through the whistle.
QB: Brodie Ansell Brodie Ansell 6'2" | 185 lbs | QB Central Collegiate | 2024 State CAD 6’2″ 190, Saskatchewan
A fearless quarterback that’s willing to sit in the pocket until the last possible moment to hit a downfield target. Ansell shows great touch and can throw receivers open. He’s got calm feet in the pocket, he drops the go ball right in the breadbasket in stride and is athletic enough to provide value in the quarterback run game. He shows a quick set-up and consistent ball placement all over the field.
QB: Brady Vindevoghel Brady Vindevoghel 6'1" | 175 lbs | QB Miller Comprehensive | 2024 State CAD 6’2″ 170, Saskatchewan
Brady has a cannon of an arm that could be unleashed at any moment and can be done so off awkward platforms. He’s got phenomenal deep ball touch, he calmly works through his progression with impending rushers closing in, and can throw field-side routes with no issues. He squares his shoulders when throwing on the run and knows when to take something off his ball.
