Today, we’re looking at some explosive athletes on the offensive side of the football that you need to know. These youngsters have produced an abundance of big plays for their schools and have plenty of potential for the next level. I fully expect them to continue to develop and have an even greater impact this season.
As always, If you have someone you think I need to see, please DM them to me on Twitter at @hsfbscout!
WR: Matthew Jonah-Eleweke, 6′ 175, Alberta
A complete receiver prospect with strong hands, vision, big-time ability after the catch, and blazing speed. Matthew can sell vertical, get a defender to open up his hips & then stop on a dime. He’s extremely slippery with the ball in his hands, has outstanding contact balance, and can go up & get the fifty-fifty ball.
RB: David Georges, 6′ 180, Québec
David put up some ridiculous numbers in 2022, totaling 2,272 yards and 38 touchdowns. He’s filthy in space and can make defenders miss in a phone booth. He’s got loose hips for easy change of direction, instant acceleration when he spots a crease, and a violent stiff arm for overly aggressive tacklers. I think this young man is a no-brainer division one prospect based on his speed, body control, and rhythmic footwork.
RB: Seth Poelzer Seth Poelzer 5'10" | 180 lbs | RB Holy Trinity Academy | 2025 State CAD , 5’10” 170, Alberta
Another back with impressive production, finishing the 2022 season with 1,737 yards and 27 touchdowns. Poelzer averaged a whopping 11.9 yards per-carry and just flat-out gashed defenses. This is a downhill north and south runner who can add value as a pass catcher out of the backfield. He has enough speed to run away from the defense, he knows how to set up tacklers with false angles, and has a mean running style on the goal line.
WR: Oshae Maxwell, 6’2″ 170, Québec
Maxwell is an x receiver who consistently wins his 1 on 1 matchups on the outside. He can take a quick game concept and turn it into an explosive play, he’s an artist with his downfield releases and is tough to bring down after the catch. He’s got great focus and can easily adjust his body on poorly thrown balls. He’s got a filthy jump cut at his disposal, he lets his blocks set up before pressing a seam and can push for time at all four receiver spots.
