Washington has twice the population which typically translates into more talent but not always. Here we see 14 of the top 20 teams being from the state of Washington, but with Oregon holding two of the top three spots. When all is said and done look for West Linn and Central Catholic to potentially be two of the top teams ever to come out of the state with a national ranking being very realistic.
11.Lake Oswego OR
Steve Coury might be the best coach in the NW and he has a host of young talent returning from last years quarterfinal team which overachieved. The Lakers will once again be led by numerous 2025 and 26′ athletes, including standout sophomore RB Lamarcus Bell Lamarcus Bell 5'11" | 190 lbs | RB Lake Oswego | 2026 State OR and two of the region’s top defenders in Oliver Macy Oliver Macy 6'4" | 220 lbs | DL Lake Oswego | 2025 State OR and Lusiano Lopez Lusiano Lopez 6'2" | 240 lbs | DL Lake Oswego | 2025 State OR .
12.Lake Stevens WA
The Vikings won the 4A state title so give credit where it’s due. That said as they lose Ducks commit Jayden Limar to graduation and did get absolutely blasted by West Linn last season. Younger brother Jayshon Limar Jayshon Limar 6'0" | 190 lbs | RB Lake Stevens | 2025 State WA will need to play out of his mind.
13.Tualatin OR
The T-Wolves feature one of the top perimeters on the west coast with three D1 kids leading the way in Jayden Fortier Jayden Fortier 6'5" | 220 lbs | TE Tualatin | 2024 State OR , AJ Noland AJ Noland 6'2" | 185 lbs | DB Tualatin | 2024 State OR , and Kenen Elder Kenen Elder 6'0" | 170 lbs | WR Tualatin | 2024 State OR . Incoming 6-5 junior QB Nolan Keeney Nolan Keeney 6'4" | 205 lbs | QB Tualatin | 2025 State OR is one of the top recruits in Oregon for his class. The question comes down to line play and whether or not the D can stop top TRL competition.
14.Sumner WA
Player of the year Matthew Spurbeck Matthew Spurbeck 5'10" | 185 lbs | ATH Sumner | 2024 State WA is back and will run behind the likes of Oregon St commit (Dylan) Gregory Sikorski Gregory Sikorski 6'5" | 300 lbs | OL Sumner | 2024 State WA . The Spartans are consistently one of the top programs in Washington, but the depth might not be what it’s been in years past.
15.Emerald Ridge WA
The Jaguars made a run to the state semi’s last year and have D1 QB Jake Schakel Jake Schakel 6'1" | 195 lbs | QB Emerald Ridge | 2024 State WA and numerous other division 1 athletes on the perimeter returning. They will definitely put-up points but will it be enough?
16.Camas WA
Camas has dudes everywhere but it’s not the same as when Jon Eagle was leading the program. The Papermakers feature one of the top football communities in the NW, going 6-4 last season while losing to legit competition. They will have a shot this year with one of the state’s better lines and elite WR Trenton Swanson who will be a D1 kid.
17.Lakeridge OR
On paper the Pacers have one of the best rosters in the Northwest. USC commit Joey Olsen Joey Olsen 6'6" | 220 lbs | TE Lakeridge | 2024 State OR and 2026 RB Ansu Sanoe Ansu Sanoe 6'2" | 210 lbs | RB Lakeridge | 2026 State OR , who was recently offered by Georgia, will be tough to stop. That said as Lakeridge will need to get a couple big wins in league to set the tone, similar to their 14-9 win over Lake O last season.
18.Lakes WA
The Lancers will be relatively young but super talented. QB Legend Galeai Legend Galeai 6'3" | 190 lbs | QB Lakes | 2026 State WA looks to be the real deal with multiple underclassmen already receiving division 1 offers ( Tristan Baker Tristan Baker 6'1" | 185 lbs | ATH Lakes | 2026 State WA , Ta’u Mareko Ta’u Mareko 6'1" | 220 lbs | LB Lakes | 2026 State WA ). I do not see them losing in the first round like last year, but 3A ball in Washington is littered with talent so it will be tough.
19.Lincoln WA
The Abes are always good but what will it look like with 4* QB Gabarri Johnson gone? To say he will be missed would be a massive understatement. Look for RB Navarre Dixon Navarre Dixon 5'9" | 195 lbs | RB Emerald Ridge | 2024 State WA to have a monster year and other young talent to step up from last year’s 11-1 team.
20.Spanaway Lake WA
D’Aryhian Clemons D’Aryhian Clemons 6'0" | 170 lbs | ATH Spanaway Lake | 2025 State WA , De’arius Hawkins, and Jasiah Denmark Jasiah Denmark 6'0" | 170 lbs | DB Puyallup | 2026 State WA return as three of the top skill kids in the state. If they are able to get some line help and play good D, they will be in the mix come playoff time.
