Running Back Standouts: Shorter U. Camp

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Close to 400 student athletes participated in the Shorter University Recruit Camp this past Saturday "On The Hill" in Rome, Ga. Recorded a Top 5 40 time at 4.53. Had one of the best 5-10-5 cone times in the RB group at 4.32. Blome has a strong compact build and is a workout warrior. He squats 474 and power cleans 290. A patient runner that allows the OL to do their thing then explodes through the hole. A relatively unknown guy that had a breakout camp Saturday. Strong athletic build at 5'11 181. Had the fastest 40 time for a 2025 RB at 4.56 and recorded the best 5-10-5 time (4.31) among all the RB participants. Limited film at this point but shows the ability to change directions in traffic to avoid tackles. Has good leg strength and consistently runs through and drags defenders. Was 2nd Team All Region as a Junior and was a 2nd Team All County Wrestler in '22. Stong, compact build and showed his agility at the camp putting up a 4.44 in the 5-10-5 drill. Very good North South runner on film. When he see's a line he takes it with the strength and toughness to break tackles, likes to use the stiff arm. Has good speed to get around the corner. On film he shows the ability to change direction in traffic for extra yardage. I like his ability as a slot receiver. Has good first step off the line of scrimmage and is a good route runner with the speed to get open. Squats 460 and did 22 reps of 225. Shows good balance and change of direction to avoid contact at the line of scrimmage. Uses his strength to create separation with his off hand. Has the  speed to get to and around the corners. Had a good camp Saturday and showed his agility in 5-10-5 drill, especially for a 200 pounder. Also plays linebacker for the Phoenix and rarely comes off the field.
