Yelm is stacked with talent and athletes all over their offense and defense. Their quarterback is an insane athlete as well. Aalona is quick with the ball in his hands and can scramble if needed. Yelm won the state championship and did not lose a game due to Damian’s 26 TD to 1 INT ratio last season. I expect him to showcase more this season and surprise a lot of people.
The Mercer Island quarterback had a solid season last year behind a very solid offensive line that kept him protected. He is capable of throwing the ball 40 times a game and his arm strength stays solid the whole game. Kornblum is confident with his throws, placing them right in the spot it needed to be often times. He has the ability to release the ball quickly, doing a quick 2 step drop back before slinging the ball.
Highlights
Michael had a great season last year for Skyline, throwing for about 22 touchdowns on the season. He has a solid quick release if he needs to use it but can also be calm in the pocket and wait for his receivers to run their routes to get open. He’ll be going into his 3rd year of starting and I think it could be his biggest one yet.
Jaylen has fantastic size at the quarterback position and is extremely athletic on the field. He is quick with his feet and can scramble out of pressure easily. He throws on the run very well, being able to accurately place the ball while throwing across his body. I can’t wait to see how much he has grown his game over the offseason when the season starts.
Highlights
Ronan was the starter last year as a sophomore and was a big time leader for this Highline squad. He has a very high football IQ, as he can read defenses with ease quickly. He wasn’t relied on too much as in he didn’t throw many times each game. One thing that was very impressive, Ronan took advantage of his passing attempts and threw for a lot of yards and touchdowns. He’s going to have a bigger role this season and will excel.
