About Isaac
Expert Analysis
Sam Erman | Prep Redzone Scout
Begley is a good center who plays with a quick first step and moves well for an interior lineman. He has the speed to get downfield and become a lead blocker, which opens up a lot in the run game. His hand placement is solid, and he does a good job driving defenders backward once he gets engaged. He also holds up well against power and can handle a bull rush from defensive tackles without getting walked back into the pocket. Centers who can move, anchor, and play with good technique are hard to find, and Begley checks a lot of those boxes.

, a defensive lineman at Hazard Middle School. What makes Begley such a gamechanger is his ability to consistently read the offense, quickly spot the handoff and breach the pocket with ease. I also like Begley’s ability to exert his strength to collapse the pocket and create heavy pressure on the quarterback.

, a defensive lineman at Hazard High School. Begley impresses with his ability to lock down receivers, using his quickness to blast the offense and protect the backfield. I also like how Begley can read the handoff and attack the rush. Begley also stands out with his ability to pick up speed to stop the offense from along the edge.

if off to a 3-0 start this season for Hazard as of this write up and he’s a big part of their success. It’s a thrill to see big men compete in multiple sports and Isaac gets busy in the big three year round (football, baseball, basketball). His measurements are 6’0 and close to 200 pounds of proportioned mass. On defense his position of choice would fall at D-End for obvious reasons. He’s long, fast, and relentless. Isaac fights off blocks and locates the ball quickly. A lot of his tackles comes in the backfield from blowing up the outside of OL shoulders and once he gets your turned, its downhill from there. Fun Fact: this kid plays some center on offense which reflects his leadership, smarts, and versatility. Not many defensive ends play interior OL, let alone center.
