. When initially ranked, Cook earned the #2 overall ranking in the class of 2027. After a year of physical development, it is time to take a look how is sophomore season went.
Cook ran run in phase fron a skate technique in cover three with ease and has the body control to make a play both the lead and trail positions. I did not notice a matchup he could not run with. Cook uses his body to take on bigger blockers on perimeter toss-type plays, but might lose his force leverage – this will come as time progresses. Appearing more built and physically developed on film, the rising junior typically plays conservatively, opting to play and tip the ball rather than intercept. Perhaps the most telling clip on his tape, Cook bit on a route fake but showcased the speed needed to recover and make a play on the ball for an incompletion. In 2024 he also played some safety and receiver as well. When I take a look at Cook’s junior tape, I hope to see him matchup up in press coverage – as I feel he has the speed to run with anyone on the field and asphyxiate matchups all over the field – as well as more instances of his hip mobility and converting picks. Add these elements to Cook’s film, and I feel the offers will blow up.

is a twitchy freak; however, for as twitchy as he is, Cook absolutely explodes with every movement he makes. Never one to give up on plays, no ball carrier anywhere on the field is safe from him. Playing like a grown man, as an offensive weapon Cook can absorb hits while being ready to take on another. Should those efforts not take him down, Cook only is downed when the entire squad gets involved. No ball carrier is safe from Cook as he prowls the secondary, for the relentless defender hustles and pursues, as well as times the ball’s arrival to intended targets extremely well to break up pass attempts. For as much as I love his game, Cook’s area to grow would probably be zeroing in on his run/pass keys from safety. Doing so will make an elite two-way defender even better.

, a dynamic 5’11” and 150-pound defensive back, showcases an explosive style of play that defines his game. Whether in coverage, reading and reacting with agility, or moving downhill fearlessly to tackle, Cook embodies an impressive level of explosiveness. His versatility on the defensive end is evident, seamlessly transitioning between outside corner, safety, and slot corner, effectively matching up against a variety of wide receivers. Cook extends his impact to special teams, proving to be a difference maker with the ability to flip field positions and provide favorable starting spots for the offense. With his instinctual nature and penchant for making an impact as a tackler,

has the potential to be a true lockdown cornerback. Picking the ball off 2 times in 2023, the Eastern defender lined up all across the defensive backfield last fall. Another player that doesn’t get beaten in coverage often, Terry has been one of the most impressive 2027 defenders I’ve seen so far. Doing an excellent job staying tight to the receiver, Terry forces a very small window for the QB to throw into. Able to get his arms in to breakup the ball, Terry is a terror to throw towards.

A product of South Jersey’s Eastern Regional, Cook made the trip up north worth his while. What stood out to me about Cook was how he manages to consistently adjust to the ball. Many times this manifests on the deep bomb, however Cook was able to reel in balls thrown in front, behind, above, and below him. He had no issues bailing his quarterbacks’ sometimes arrant throws in to the safety of his own hands.
