Looking Ahead: 5A Preseason 1st & 2nd Team All State Offense

As most know, all state selections are heavily dictated by team success. If your HS program is winning, you're much more likely to receive this type of recognition. This is NOT a recruitment-based list although many of the top recruits are listed as all state athletes. Have a look at the pre-season 1st & 2nd team all state picks as of right now, along with the leading candidates for 5A POY honors.       5A Offensive POY Candidates (#1-3)     1.[player_tooltip player_id='207256' first='Tyler' last='Konold'] 6-0 200 RB 24' Canby    Konold broke out as a sophomore, averaging 11.5 yards per carry (1412 yards, 123 rushes), while earning 1st team all-state honors. He and a majority of the Canby roster went down with injuries last year. Look for him to bounce back and destroy the state this season running the football.    2.[player_tooltip player_id='206867' first='Connor' last='Dye'] 5-10 170 RB 24' Springfield    One of the few NW athletes who will end up being a 4 year all conference kid. He earned 1st team all-league honors a season ago, and should thrive behind two of the state's top lineman in [player_tooltip player_id='206868' first='Nate' last='Williams'] and transfer [player_tooltip player_id='291229' first='Sam' last='Keen']. Expect legendary 1st year head coach Frank Geske to get Dye a minimum of 20 touches every Friday night.    3.[player_tooltip player_id='412221' first='Tyler' last='Hart-McNally'] 5-10 170 ATH/RB 25' West Albany    Hart-McNally went for 903 all purpose yards as a sophomore with 6 TDs. His numbers could double or triple this coming season with West ranking as one of the top 5A teams in the state.
