The state of Arkansas has plenty of talented prospects that work on special teams to pay attention to over the next couple of seasons. In this article, we are going to shine a spotlight on several prospects that work on the special team’s unit. All of the players mentioned in this article, are players that people are going to want to keep an eye on over the next few seasons.
Gideon Tate Gideon Tate 6'2" | 170 lbs | K Heber Springs | 2024 State AR -Kicker-Heber Springs-2024
The Heber Springs kicker has opened plenty of eyes this offseason. Tate has displayed the range needed to connect from 50-yards plus. He opened plenty of eyes at the Prep Redzone Showcase in Little Rock and continues to do so in offseason work. The Heber Springs kicker earned an invitation to participate in the National Champions League games. Tate will be a weapon that the Panthers are able to utilize all season.
Caleb Villines-Kicker-Hot Springs Lakeside-2024
Caleb Villines is an accurate kicker with a strong leg. The Lakeside Rams prospect has the ranger to kick from 55-yards. Villines attended the Kohl’s Kicking camp in Dallas over the weekend. I look for Villines to have a strong season for the Rams. He earned special teams MVP honors last season, and I would look for that trend to continue into this upcoming season. He is another talented prospect that will open plenty of eyes over the next few months.
JD Olson-Kicker-Bryant-2027
JD Olson continues to extend his range and his accuracy. Olson is hitting consistently from 40-plus yards and is proving to be another weapon for a talented Bryant Hornets football team. He is a kicker that is not afraid to make a tackle and he has no problem pulling a return man down. Olson does an excellent job of being able to pin the opposition back in poor field position. I look for him to continue to open plenty of eyes over the next couple of seasons.
Nathan Kachel Nathan Kachel 6'0" | 190 lbs | K Fayetteville | 2025 State AR -Kicker-Fayetteville-2025
The Fayetteville Bulldogs kicker will give the Bulldogs a weapon at the kicking position over the next few seasons. Kachel’s ability to consistently hit from 50-plus yards makes him a kicker to watch out for this upcoming season. The accuracy that Kachel possesses is impressive and will make opposing teams mindful of the field position that the Bulldogs gain. Look for Kachel and Fayetteville to be a team to watch out for this upcoming season.
Sam Dubwig Sam Dubwig 6'4" | 210 lbs | P Cabot | 2024 State AR -Punter-Cabot-2024
A punter that can pin opposing teams deep in bad field position is a weapon not to take lightly. Sam Dubwig Sam Dubwig 6'4" | 210 lbs | P Cabot | 2024 State AR has tremendous hang time on his punts, which makes it extremely difficult for returns from the opposing team. Meanwhile, he has the leg strength to flip the field for the Panthers. Dubwig has earned a scholarship from UNLV, and he is a prospect to watch out for this upcoming season. I look forward to seeing how many teams he hurts with his accuracy and leg strength.
