Gus is a wide receiver I have seen at a ton of college camps over the years, and what’s always stood out quickly is this young man’s soft hands as he catches anything and everything that seems to come his way. He shows off on tape the route creativity he has at his disposal especially with his intermediate route running. He’s commonly seen as the x or y receiver, but I certainly feel that Gus’s best next-level fit appears as a slot receiver especially with the success he has had around the first down markers over the years. Surely is one that should see his recruitment pick up more steam during the fall season.

from Minot Bishop Ryan. He shows off excellent hands and shows off what is a persistent deep threat that doesn’t need much space to operate in high traffic areas. He also shows off the quick twitch off the top of his route and can give cornerbacks a few fits when he utilizes his change of direction which shows dexterity in any direction. If you go outside the measurables threshold for wide receivers, Gus would be a good one to watch this summer as he makes his noise most in the live eval from my experiences.

Gus shows off a sound plethora of route-running ability with the versatility he shows off with his routes. I like his efficiency he has getting the hard-earned yards after the catch especially with his shorter routes as he has good vision for his age. Gus reads as a wide receiver that has a growing football IQ that is only going to show off more smooth skillsets over the next handful of years. I would love to see how much Gus has developed with his agility since I saw him at our Prep Redzone Dakotas Showcase this Spring, as a prospect that shows me one of the best slot receivers in North Dakota in the 2026 class from my early look at this class. I hope to see a growth spurt from this young man over the next few seasons. Twitter
