Whether a lot of these players will play at the next level or not is left to be said, but one thing we will say is that all of their years playing for their programs has been valued, and was enjoyable to witness. While multiple RB’s throughout Georgia’s 2021 class have been given proper attention, we also recognize that there have been plenty of prospects who have either been overshadowed completed, or who are flat out underrated. Today, we wanted to take some time to recognize a few underrated RB prospects who are worth watching out the 2021class.
Andrew Carner Andrew Carner 5'8" | 165 lbs | RB Jones County | 2021 GA – Jones County High
Andrew Carner Andrew Carner 5'8" | 165 lbs | RB Jones County | 2021 GA , out of Jones County High put his talent on full display this season. He not only shows that he has the speed to take it the distance, but he also showed that he has a bit of shiftiness, and twitch to his running style as well. because of this, he not only runs well in between the tackles, but can be seen to be very effective when he bounces outside as well. Carner’s quick feet makes it very difficult for him to catch, and often times results in big gains for his team. This season, his personal success has allowed his team to flourish in the running game, and we are very surprised he has not gotten more attention than he has. If he plays at the next level. look for him to make a positive impact on any program who gives him a chance.
Lebron Fields Lebron Fields 5'10" | 175 lbs | RB Veterans | 2021 GA – Veterans High
When you watch the film on Lebron Fields Lebron Fields 5'10" | 175 lbs | RB Veterans | 2021 GA , the first thing you notice is that he has the ability to take it to the house, regardless of where his offense has the ball. Along with this, his strong build and burst allow for him to gain positive yardage, even when he is running through contact. While he may not be the fastest player on the field, he does have a bit of sudden short area quickness to him. One thing we would like to see a bit more of from Fields is the ability to have solid vision when running in between the tackles. We certainly believe that if he was a bit more stout in this area, he may have received a few more looks. Regardless, his ability is an added value to any football team, and any small school who gives him a chance will not be disappointed.
Robert Allen Robert Allen 5'10" | 180 lbs | RB Swainsboro | 2021 GA – Swainsboro High
While Allen is a bit of a smaller RB prospect, he definitely holds his weight very well, which is evident in how he handles contact, and runs through tackles. While he is not the quickest back, he does have solid feet, which allow for him to change direction in necessary situations, which ultimately result in positive yardage for him. Along with this, Allen, also has a burst that allows him to explode through the hole, making it intimidating for defenders to bring him down initially. Even though we are not confident in his long speed, we do feel that he is a solid back and that his ability to run the football powerfully will help him in any given situation with the ball in his hands.
Tyler Curtis Tyler Curtis 6'1" | 210 lbs | RB Parkview | 2021 State GA – Parkview High
Curtis, who is a very talented back, has had a solid high school career, and it is unfortunate that he has often times been overshadowed by the greatness of his fellow RB, and teammate, Cody Brown Cody Brown 6'0" | 211 lbs | RB Parkview | 2021 State GA . Regardless, Curtis plays at a very high level, and continues to show his ability to not only keep his legs churning through contact, but that he is willing to take on any physicality necessary. With this, Curtis also has shown that he can run at a good pad level, and gain positive yardage when necessary. He has a burst and quick agility that is also great for a RB of his stature, and he also has shown that he can take the ball to the house too. Because of all of these traits, as well as the program he plays for, we would not be surprised if someone gave him a shot to be a key player for them at the next level.
