Joshua is a steady linebacker who brings consistency and control to the defense. He doesn’t rely on flash — instead, he wins with discipline, awareness, and doing his job snap after snap.
On film, what he does best is read the game early and stay in position. He recognizes run action quickly and avoids unnecessary steps, which allows him to stay clean and get to his responsibilities without chasing plays out of structure.
He also does a good job of staying balanced in space, breaking down under control and finishing plays without losing leverage. That makes him reliable when ball carriers reach the second level.
Another strong trait is his patience within the scheme. He doesn’t overcommit or get pulled out of gaps easily, which helps him remain consistent even when plays are designed to misdirection or bounce.

is a human wrecking ball at linebacker. Standing at 6’0, Bengard plays fast and physically in the box and is no stranger to making plays. Josh is a seasoned blitzer who has a knack for slipping through the cracks of offensive linemen and instantly gaining penetration into the backfield. Josh’s explosive nature allows him to finish plays off no matter where they are at on the field and has the speed to close the gap on the ball carrier and bring them down easily. Based on everything that I have seen from Bengard, no-brainer is the perfect way to describe him. If he continues to play at this level throughout his career, he is going to be one of the most dangerous linebackers in the state of Texas.
