The one thing that college coaches love the most about their recruiting job is to get the chance to see their potential recruits competing against top-flight competition.
What the playoffs do – especially in the state of Florida – is validate what college coaches liked about many of these young men who turn up the volume in the playoffs.
While we know it’s been a crazy year, there are some who have taken advantage of the spotlight – and certainly run with it.
Today, we bring you five talented prospects who are getting it done when it counts.
2021 – Sammy Edwards, QB, St. Augustine. Here is a senior who has certainly made the most of his opportunity to lead this team this season. Played against some impressive competition, and he made a lasting impression. In a huge win over defending 6A state runner up Pensacola Escambia, he threw for two touchdowns and ran for another two touchdowns.

2023 – Dylan Rizk, QB, Delray American Heritage. They have been talking about this young man for two years now – and as he continues to mature and learn – this is someone who is getting national publicity and attention. Comes through when this team need him most – like he did in a win over Lemon Bay when he had 480 yards passing, 6 total touchdowns.

2021 – Keishawn Qualls, WR/S, Pensacola Pine Forest. Before the season started, the coaches talked about some of the prospects who would step up – even during the pandemic. This is one of the gifted prospects that they mentioned – as a two-way standout, who has shown leadership and talent during the playoff run. In a win over Live Oak Suwannee, he had five catches for 108 yards in a huge win for this program.

2021 – Pat Bryant, WR, Jacksonville Atlantic Coast. Here is a gifted football prospect who has been playing at a high level for three seasons, and has turned it up here in his senior season, especially in the playoffs. In a huge win against Tallahassee Lincoln, this gifted talent caught three passes for over 100 yards and sparked his team to the win. He is committed to attend the University of Illinois.

2022 – Curran Webb Curran Webb OL Lake Butler Union County | 2022 FL , OLB/DE, Lake Butler Union County. From the beginning of the season right through to the playoffs, here is a quality football talent who was impressive all season. Came up with big plays the past month – sparking this team. In a win over Fort White, he had 3 solo tackles, 3 tackles for loss and 2 crucial sacks.
