We switch from 2025 coverage to bring you five more sleep prospects that you should start watching now. These guys are hidden gems that could have a splash offseason!
Stephen J Sullivan-Diaz Stephen J Sullivan-Diaz 5'9" | 230 lbs | OL Lincoln Southeast | 2024 State NE | OL | Lincoln Southeast | 5’9″ 230 lbs
#17 OL | #111 Overall
One thing I’ve picked up while doing this is that if you want a smart, sound lineman… Lincoln Southeast is a good place to look. The Knights are returning some key players on the OL including Stephen J Sullivan-Diaz Stephen J Sullivan-Diaz 5'9" | 230 lbs | OL Lincoln Southeast | 2024 State NE who will go into his senior season with tons of experience. Although Stephen would be considered “undersized” he does a great job using this to his advantage instead. He does very well winning the low-man battle and has a strong anchor that keeps him from being pushed off his spot. He generates a lot of power in his hips that helps him maintain leverage and eventually overpower his opponent. He went toe-to-toe with some talented DL this season and more than held his own. Very impressive young man and a hidden gem in the trenches.
Kooper Koehn Kooper Koehn 6'2" | 195 lbs | WR Gothenburg | 2024 State NE | WR/LB | Gothenburg | 6’2″ 195 lbs
#15 WR | #153 Overall
Gothenburg is home to a few hidden gems in the ’24 & ’25 classes. One of them is Kooper Koehn Kooper Koehn 6'2" | 195 lbs | WR Gothenburg | 2024 State NE who could see himself make a leap in 2023. Koehn finished his junior year with 20 receptions for 270 yards and a touchdown. He is a solid route runner that can create separation, expose holes in the defense, and can use his height to win 1v1 matchups on the outside. Kooper’s basketball background allows him to go up and make catches above the rim. He can also throw down when it comes to outside run blocking, showing a bit of a mean streak when he’s asked to do so. On the defensive end, Kooper can flat-out fly around. He finished the season with 51 tackles, 4.5 tackles for loss, two interceptions, and a fumble recovery. He can rush the passer and has the versatility to switch from outside, inside linebacker, and a nickel/safety role. Stock rise candidate!!
Ted Stenglein Ted Stenglein 6'2" | 220 lbs | DL DC West | 2024 State NE | DL | DC West | 6’2″ 220 lbs
#24 DL | #177 Overall
The Falcon’s Ted Stenglein Ted Stenglein 6'2" | 220 lbs | DL DC West | 2024 State NE is a player on the rise after a very promising junior campaign. Ted was the main mover on the interior defensive line for DC West, holding down the defensive tackle position. He finished the season with 42 tackles, 2 tackles for loss, a sack, and forced two fumbles. Ted is stout at the line and has a strong upper body to help him rip and break away from blockers. Once he’s disengaged from his block, he is a monster at attacking the ball, showing a nice pursuit. Stenglein is a leaner D-lineman so he likely projects best at defensive end where he can use his set of rush moves to create problems in the run games. He’s also a player to watch on the offensive line this upcoming season. Promising player to keep your eye on.
Jackson Kreifel Jackson Kreifel 6'1" | 185 lbs | LB Nebraska City | 2024 State NE | LB | Nebraska City | 6’1″ 185 lbs
#26 LB | #195 Overall
I got hyped up when I saw Jackson was signed up for the Prospect Tour next month. Nebraska City’s Jackson Kreifel Jackson Kreifel 6'1" | 185 lbs | LB Nebraska City | 2024 State NE is a player that is coming off a great junior season where he finished with 67 tackles, 8.5 tackles for loss, and two sacks. Jackson is just a scrappy player that seems to always make his way to the ball. He trusts his instincts very well and does a great job reading what the offense is doing and reacting accordingly. Surprisingly, he doesn’t get caught up with blockers very often and can find ways to slip past the protection to make plays at/behind the line. Kreifel is a good tackler who can consistently get low and wrap up for the sure stop. Prospect Tour… watch out!!!
Samuel Edmonds Samuel Edmonds 5'10" | 185 lbs | ATH Wahoo | 2024 State NE | ATH | Wahoo | 5’10” 185 lbs
#33 ATH | #223 Overall
A football swiss army knife for the Wahoo Warriors. Junior Samuel Edmonds Samuel Edmonds 5'10" | 185 lbs | ATH Wahoo | 2024 State NE played everything from QB, WR, RB, and safety finishing the season with 45 passing yards (4/9), 240 rushing yards, 4 rush touchdowns, 10 receptions, 105 yards, 2 receiving touchdowns, 45 tackles, a tackle for loss, and three interceptions. I really liked Sam’s play at safety where he showed his field speed and range. He is a very reactionary player that can fly to the ball and use his excellent ball-skills to try and make a play. Offensively, he’s a great player that can make big plays when you get him the ball in space. Edmonds is shifty with the ball in his hands and can makes defenders miss with his quick change of direction. Looking forward to seeing more of Samuel this offseason!
