Ford jumped nearly 20 spots in the updated overall rankings to get inside the top 50 while remaining the #4 TE in the state. At 6’6” 230 lbs. he checks a lot of boxes as major D1 TE that is effective both as a receiver and inline blocker. He’s a smooth athlete at that size can move his body, get in/out of his cuts, and play the ball in the air. He’s got strong hands at the catch point with the ability to extend and pull in receptions outside his framework. Does a good job using his size to his advantage boxing out defenders to create a throwing lane. Great redzone and jump ball threat. Strong at the POA when blocking in the run game, he can bring heavy initial contact and finish his blocks. Stock has continued to rise over the last two years pulling in 12 offers before committing to Arizona in April.

Ford checks into our rankings as one of the top tight ends in the state, and is a no brainer power five caliber prospect with elite size and speed for that level. At 6’5 and change, he is a smooth athlete with strong hands and a huge catch radius while very physical at the POA. He has picked up offers from Wyoming, Arizona, Washington, SDSU and Oregon State while locking in a official visit with the local Golden Bears in early June. Ford currently holds 9 division I offers.

Ford is rated as a high 3-star prospect and has 5 power five offers, with others soon to follow suit as he is one of the top tight end prospects on the western region. He is a true tight end that can stretch the field, has strong hands in traffic with plus movement abilities and speed for his size while having a huge catch radius. He does a nice job at quickly getting off the line, can easily get off press coverage and boxes out smaller defenders in the red-zone. Ford is also not afraid to run block with immediate knock-back and finishes blocks downfield with violence.

Ford is quickly becoming one of the top tight end prospects on the West and is a three-star prospect across multiple sites. He is a smooth athlete with elite size, strength and catch radius and was just offered by Washington State and Cal, and already holds offers from Washington, SJSU and UNLV. Ford should have a huge off-season and impress at multiple stops, as he is a no brainer P5 eventual starter and passes the eye test at 6’5″ and change, and well over the 220+ pound marker.
