Athletes Are Being Noticed – Statewide

Ask any college coach across the country to tell you why south Florida is so special when it comes to producing football talent, and all will tell you it’s the athletes. <img class="alignleft size-medium wp-image-69786" src="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/redzone/uploads/2020/11/Florida-Player-Spotlight-4-300x188.jpg" alt="" width="300" height="188" />There are so many football players who not only play multiple positions, but in many cases, if it weren’t for their athletic ability and talent, many teams would not win the games that they are coming away victorious from. It has long been that way – when high school football teams use players to elevate their team – on both side of the ball. Today, we bring you five ATHLETES who have made a huge impact this season, playing just about anywhere on the field. <strong>2023 - Isaiah Bryant, Mount Dora Christian.</strong> Keeping with that athlete tradition, here is a tremendous, young football talent who is already playing slot receiver, cornerback and quarterback for this program. He is a solid and dependable talent, who recently showcased his skills – when he returned two punts for 103 yards total and scored two touchdowns on the returns in a win. <strong>TAPE:</strong> <a href="https://www.hudl.com/profile/11313794/Isaiah-Bryant">https://www.hudl.com/profile/11313794/Isaiah-Bryant</a> <strong>2021 - Cedric Hawkins, Deltona Trinity Christian.</strong> This gifted receiver, returner and defensive back is someone who has been playing this game for a number of years, and here in his senior season, he has done everything possible to gain some recognition, while helping his football team win games. Recently, he had 191 yards of total offense and scored four touchdowns – two rushing, two receiving – plus had an interception on defense in a win. <strong>TAPE:</strong> <a href="https://www.hudl.com/profile/9774658/Cedric-Hawkins">https://www.hudl.com/profile/9774658/Cedric-Hawkins</a> <strong>2021 - Leroy Lopez, Clearwater Countryside.</strong> Whether it’s on the offensive side of the ball – as a receiver and runner – or in the secondary on defense, here is a senior who gave this program plenty with his ability to make plays against top competition. In a win in the past few weeks of the regular season, he finished with 244 yards of offense – 174 rushing, 70 receiving – and scored three total touchdowns in a win. <strong>TAPE:</strong> <a href="https://www.hudl.com/profile/11748801/Leroy-Lopez">https://www.hudl.com/profile/11748801/Leroy-Lopez</a> <strong>2021 - [player_tooltip player_id="32775" first="Jordan" last="Oladokun"], Tampa Gaither.</strong> Having followed this gifted athlete’s career from the beginning – at the high school level – nothing he does would ever surprise. This is a quality football player who made his move to the defensive secondary for one of the top teams in the state – only to slide to quarterback recently and went 13-of-22 passing for 289 yards and three touchdowns, plus added one more touchdown on the ground in a huge win. <strong>TAPE:</strong> <a href="https://www.hudl.com/profile/11269460/Jordan-Oladokun">https://www.hudl.com/profile/11269460/Jordan-Oladokun</a> <strong>2022 - Eddie Whipple, Orange Park Ridgeview.</strong> Where do you want to line this impressive athlete up? Receiver, safety, running back? How about on special teams? This quality junior talent is someone that colleges need to take a serious look at – because he can play this game – at a high level.
