In this article, we'll be taking a closer look at the five best running backs in the class of 2024. These players have already shown exceptional skills on the field and have the potential to be future stars of college football. From their speed and agility to their power and vision, these young athletes have what it takes to dominate at the next level. As always, I'm looking forward to what these players can do this offseason and in the primary Fall season!

[player_tooltip player_id='249806' first='Nakai' last='Amachree'] | Haslett | Hudl

Nakai is reactively new to the big recruiting scene, and as I've said multiple times, this all kicked off with a phenomenal start to his 2022 Fall season. Nakai is an elusive back and a TD machine, scoring 21 Touchdowns through 10 games. Of course, that's 2.1 TDs per game, which is insane. Running the football, Nakai is patient, has excellent vision, and is a north-south runner. His return ability proves he can get fancy when appropriate, but out of the backfield, he usually doesn't do anything east-west until he's in the open field, which shows discipline.

[player_tooltip player_id='667472' first='Brock' last='Townsend'] | Caledonia | Hudl

Townsend is another athlete I talked about recently. He's an overall elite athlete who can produce at the Division 1 College level as a running back or safety; he's that good. Brock is lean, strong, athletic, and can straight-up make plays. His semifinal matchup against Clarkston was legendary, and he got better as the season went on in general. He's garnered a good amount of D1 attention with 3 MAC offers, with many more D1 offers to come very soon.

[player_tooltip player_id='254032' first='AJ' last='Martel'] | Mason | Hudl

Martel is one of my favorite players in this class. He played the entire 2022 season on a fractured wrist he suffered in the late preseason and earned all-region honors this season. AJ has great speed, can fight for extra yards, and has good vision. Mason has been a bit of an underrated team these past few seasons as they've went to two-straight semifinals, being knocked out by Detroit MLK both times. With MLK losing some key pieces and since Mason defeated Brother Rice in 2021, Martel could very reasonably lead Mason to Ford Field in 2023. I personally can't wait for AJ's 2023 campaign.

[player_tooltip player_id='667473' first='Da'Vier' last='Burt'] | Southfield A&T | Hudl

At first glance, Da'Vier seems like a good back. Looking more and more into him, it's obvious that he's great and has some legit D1 potential. His Twitter is full of weight room achievements, including 305x5 on the bench press, which is insane for a RB. Bowling Green has already offered him, 247 game him 3-star status (not taken lightly), and his 2021 highlights are very impressive. I'm looking forward to seeing what his strength and athletic prowess can do in the 2023 season!

[player_tooltip player_id='241282' first='Jake' last='Price'] | Muskegon | Hudl

An all-state RB, [player_tooltip player_id='241282' first='Jake' last='Price'] is one of the fastest and most athletic in his class. I can't say enough about his athleticism, as he has some of the best elusiveness I've seen, amazing speed, and being behind an elite offensive line helps quite a bit. Playing in the OK-Green meant a lot of stiff competition, and he handled every test that came his way. It seems like West MI players in general don't get the recognition they deserve until later in the cycle, though I see Price as a potential Division 1 RB.
