We have a great conference matchup Friday, October 30th between Hershey (5-0) and Bishop McDevitt (5-0). Bishop McDevitt is always a powerhouse and it starts with senior QB [player_tooltip player_id="27516" first="Lek" last="Powell"]. Lek is undersized but has a high, tight, quick release. He shows to have a good arm. In 5 games, he’s thrown over 1,300 yards, completed 63% of his passes minimum of 150 attempts, and 17 touchdowns. Protecting Lek’s blindside is sophomore [player_tooltip player_id="27745" first="Gabriel" last="Arena"]. Gabriel already has good size for a sophomore. He is athletic, drives feet on contact, and shows physicality. He also looks really good in pass protection. Reason to believe he will be one of the top offensive linemen in the 2023 class. Lek has receivers in senior [player_tooltip player_id="27228" first="Omari" last="Hopkins"] and junior [player_tooltip player_id="27597" first="Kamil" last="Foster"]. Kamil has good size who runs good routes and shows good ball skills. Lek also has sophomore [player_tooltip player_id="27732" first="Marquese" last="Williams"] in the backfield. Hershey’s defense is going to have a tough task. In the run game, they are going to have to rely on senior linebackers Aaryn Koperna and Ian McCormick. At the safety position, they have junior John Russell Wallace. John seems to be a good tackler with decent speed.
At the QB position for Hershey, they have senior Jackson Bouslough. Jackson has good size. He shows a high, tight, quick release. Has a good arm. Does not really pass all that much, a little over 600 yards, completed 52% of his passes minimum of 50 attempts with 9 touchdowns in 5 games. Jackson has senior receiver in Davey Loyd. Davey has good size. He is an average route runner but shows good ball skills. He is a willing blocker in the run game and shows physicality. Bishop McDevitt has a really good defense. They have a sophomore linebacker, Kade Werner. Kade has quickness along with good speed. He shows good change of direction and is a good tackler. He is on the rise and look for him to be among the best at the linebacker position for the 2023 class. They also have junior safety [player_tooltip player_id="27593" first="Mario" last="Easterly"]. Even though Hershey missed a playoff spot this season, they have a chance to win the division for the first time in almost 2 decades. Will Bishop McDevitt continue their dominance or will Hershey surprise everyone to a division title?
