New Mexico Military Institute's impressive February surge with prospects from the Land of Enchantment continued Monday when four more players committed to the Broncos.

Three of the players are from Volcano Vista High School – QB [player_tooltip player_id='269571' first='Elliot' last='Paskett-Bell'], DB [player_tooltip player_id='544255' first='Gabriel' last='Pino'] and DL [player_tooltip player_id='541116' first='Marcus' last='Perea'] - while the fourth commit was Alamogordo LB [player_tooltip player_id='269621' first='Damon' last='Mayberry'].

NMMI added a fifth commitment Tuesday afternoon when 2023 Organ Mountain RB/DE [player_tooltip player_id='223648' first='Fabian' last='Lozoya'] announced his pledge to the Broncos on social media.

The 6-foot-3, 185-pound Paskett-Bell, who was offered by NMMI on Jan. 30 and took a visit to Rowell shortly thereafter, was one of the top dual threat quarterbacks in the state last season, throwing for 3,201 yards and 34 touchdowns while rushing for 1,005 yards and 13 TD.

“I really like NMMI because of who has already been there,” Paskett-Bell told Prep Redzone Network. “A number of Volcano Vista players have played and succeeded at the school, and the coaches do a great job of getting their players the recognition they deserve. I was very impressed with the new facilities.”

Paskett-Bell said he was primarily recruited to play quarterback for the Broncos, but could switch positions if circumstances warrant.

“I was recruited to play quarterback with the option of playing receiver or safety if quarterback wasn't a fit for me in their system,” Paskett-Bell said.

In 2021, Paskett-Bell served as the Hawks' backup QB, passing for 900 yards, and made 20 receptions for 417 yards and 3 TD.

“I wouldn't trade my time at Volcano for anything in the world,” Paskett-Bell said. “Coach (Chad) Wallin and the rest of the coaches on staff, I consider family and will remember them and keep in contact with them for the rest of my life.”

Pino made 66 tackles with 7 interceptions and 240 return yards (34.3 average return yards per INT). Perea had 71 tackles, 9 tackles for loss and 2 sacks.

Mayberry was a two-way standout for Alamogordo in 2022 in the Tigers' debut season competing at the Class 6A level, rushing for 581 yards and 5 TD on offense and making 94 tackles on defense.

He told Prep Redzone New Mexico that he was recruited by NMMI to play middle linebacker.

“I was impressed with how well organized and put together everything is there,” Mayberry told Prep Redzone New Mexico. “They really look out for their players. The energy the coaches have is amazing and it really showed how much they value the players.

“A big factor for me was how I would improve so much from being there just one year and knowing I'll have a great chance to move on to play at a four-year school.”

Mayberry joins former Tigers teammate [player_tooltip player_id='138069' first='Ryan' last='Stovall'] in signing to play at the next level. Stovall signed with Eastern New Mexico. Another former Alamogordo standout, WR/DB [player_tooltip player_id='542531' first='Mahki' last='Roman'], appears headed to the next level as well.

The 6-foot-2, 160-pound Roman holds 11 offers, including Minnesota-Morris, Culver-Stockton, McPherson College and Ottawa University (Kansas).
