2023 Tight Ends: Touchdown Machines

They make big plays every time they take the field in more ways than you think.&nbsp;</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>Logan Dunfield || TE || 6'5 || 210 || Riverton High School || 2023 </strong><br>Dunfield was one of the state's top tight ends fishing with an impressive 720 yards and six touchdowns on just 40 touchdowns. The former Silverwolve is a yards after the catch monster. He impresses with speed and swiftness in the open field. Dunfield has a huge catch radius and does an exceptional job tracking the ball. In addition, he has good hands and makes contested catches look easy. Dunfield can get behind defenses, and once Riverton reached the red zone, he was a touchdown magnet. As a blocker, he fires off the snap, ready to punish whoever's in his way. Southern Utah is getting a star in Dunfield.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='532640' first='Mitch' last='Nielsen'] || TE || 6'1 || 210 || Farmington High School || 2023 </strong><br>No tight end in the state of Utah was more productive than Nielsen in 2022. The former Phoenix finished his outstanding senior campaign with 863 yards on 45 receptions. Nielsen was dominant in the red zone scoring 13 touchdowns. He's much more than a short-yardage target, though, and displayed electric breakaway speed. Nilsen is a savvy route runner with a knack for making defenders miss in the open field. Nilsen is an elite athlete who does a great job high pointing passes. His frame allows him to make tough catches even when defenders are draped all over him.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='406902' first='Spies' last='Tia'] || TE || 6'3 || 220 || Cyprus High School || 2023</strong><br>Tia runs good routes and punishes any defender who tries to bring him down after the catch. He makes great adjustments on the ball in the air and is willing to sell out to make a big play for his team. Tia is a phenomenal athlete who impresses with a rare blend of speed and strength matched by few in the state. He's a tenacious blocker who bullies defenders. Tia can leap off the field and holds onto passes even when he's contacted before the ball reaches his grasp. In addition, he doesn't care how many passes he catches the most important thing to him is a win.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='532638' first='Walker' last='Deede'] || 6'3 || 210 || Springville High School || 2023 </strong><br>Deede has one of the state's largest catch radiuses, and he puts it to good use. He makes incredible adjustments on the ball in the air and has the athleticism to go up and get passes when they appear out of his reach. Deede is a fluid athlete who barrels through defenders in the open field. 50/50 balls feel more like 80/20 when he's the intended target. He loves to stiff-arm defenders after the catch and enjoys sitting them down in the run game as well. Deede is a quarterback's best friend as he never gives up on a play and always works to get open when the play breaks down.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph -->
