2025: Prep RedZone Iowa Football Stock Risers!

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>In the initial 2025 Prep RedZone Iowa rankings there are some players that have stood out early in their high school careers. I take a look at 6 prospects who have contributed heavily to their team's production and success on the field. Anxious to follow this class all the way through as kids develop differently during their high school career.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='252329' first='Brody' last='Clubb'] 6-3 (225) defensive tackle our #1 overall selection from Clear Creek Amana tallied (44.0) stops this past fall and also made plays behind the line of scrimmage with (7.5) tackles for loss. Clubb finished at #3 in team tackles surrounded by (5) graduating seniors for the Clippers. Clubb will likely face double teams this fall but will have some good junior year tape to showcase.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='252328' first='Joey' last='VanWetzinga'] 6-2 (240) is another defensive tackle prospect from Pleasant Valley who really put up good production as a sophomore. VanWetzinga posted (24.0) tackles and (13.0) TFL. VanWetzinga has an impressive first step and a non-stop motor and plays through the whistle and takes good pursuit angles to the football.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='604773' first='Louden' last='Grimsley'] 6-1 (175) speedster WR is a big play waiting to happen for Lawton-Bronson. Grimsley caught (32) passes for (601) as a sophomore and had (8) touchdowns. Grimsley is part of a state champion sprint medley team at Lawton-Bronson and has been laser timed in the 40-yd dash at (4.39). The Eagles have two D-1 prospects in the same offensive huddle as 2024 WR [player_tooltip player_id='245847' first='Caleb' last='Garnand'] is another weapon on the other side of the field. Grimsley is set to have a big junior season inside an explosive offense.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='245608' first='Jack' last='Wallace'] 6-3 (205) QB of Iowa City West is a great prospect at the next level. Wallace passed for (1,754) yards as a sophomore while completing (57%) of his passes for (17) touchdowns and just (2) interceptions as a sophomore last fall. Accuracy and good decision making are two solid traits so far as Wallace continues to develop behind center at the varsity level.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='252230' first='Jamison' last='Poe'] 5-9 (150) dynamo at RB for Ames high school had a very productive sophomore season as he rushed for (870) yards and (13) touchdowns in a prolific scoring offense. Poe also caught (39) passes for (319) yards out of the backfield. Expect another big offensive junior season from Poe this fall.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='252341' first='Myles' last='Gardner'] 6-3 (180) of Columbus Catholic is an intriguing prospect. Gardner picked up (41) tackles and (3.0) TFL this past sophomore season. Gardner finished tied for 3rd in team tackles and was the only sophomore in the top 10 in team tackles for the Sailors. Great length and size to add on to his frame over the off-season.
