Coulter’s contributions go beyond the box score, and after diving into his film again, we really like what we see. Coulter really improved his release package, and he plays bigger at the catch point than his size would suggest. He’s always going to be a burner, but the fact that he’s been able to create separation early in routes suggests that he’s probably going to be more than just a deep threat.

Coulter has been on our radar for a while and answered the call with a strong freshman season. Coulter showed soft hands and big-play potential for Newton-Conover as one of several talented receivers in a strong passing offense. I expect Coulter to gain some weight and grow another inch or two into strong, shifty receiver.

Amari had a nice season and we felt like he deserved consideration in these first 2028 rankings for the work he put on film overall. in the 37 catches Amari collected this season, we see some strong traits that will transfer to the Varsity level. Despite his height, Amari shows an excellent vertical leap ability to make one-on-one catches down in the red zone. Amari also shows the ability to make defenders miss with the ball in his hands in the open field. Finally, Amari can make tough catches in traffic with some strong hands. It will be fun to see how he progresses after an offseason of weight room work and getting faster.

There’s a glitch on Coulter’s MaxPreps page that is showing his statistics as if he were a quarterback. While I’m sure he’d make a fine dual-threat passer, disregard those and don’t let them distract you from his success as a receiver this season. Coulter is extremely quick and already has a feel for finding open space against zone coverage. He’s not bad when matched up in man either.

Good showing from the 7th grader, who was listed as a WR but competed with the DBs on Saturday. Showed a ton of quickness, and flew out of his breaks, especially on 3-step routes. Shut down the best WR at the camp during 1-on-1s and flashed a couple of eye-catching reps throughout the day.
