has one of the highest ceilings of any player in the 2026 class. Though he is being heavily recruited on the offensive side of the ball, Lincoln can truly play anywhere. Whether it’s at tight end, wide receiver, defensive end, linebacker or wherever else you want to put him, Watkins is a game changer.
He’s a big and physical pass catcher. He utilized his big frame to secure position and box out defenders. Watkins has long arms and is able to go get ball out of reach for almost everyone else. Defensively, he displays just how athletic he can be. He has no issue rushing the pass off the edge or even dropping back into coverage

Lincoln has started earning some D1 attention, and it’s easy to see why. He has really sticky hands, and a solid frame to get physical with anyone in coverage. He was right around 5 seconds on both 40 times, and I think that will only improve as he continues to work. The weight room will definitely continue to be his best friend, but as for natural ability and the talent he possesses, there is no reason he isn’t an extremely sought after recruit for the next few years.

Watkins, who showed off his explosiveness throughout the MI PRZ Stock Up Showcase, is a sophomore from Port Huron Northern. The 6’3, 212 tight end possesses both strength and athleticism. He jumped a 9’2 broad jump and ran a 7.53 L-Drill during the testing period. He showed crisp route running and strong hands during individual drills and translated that to 1-on-1’s, as he consistently came down with 50/50 passes versus linebackers and defensives back. As his frame fills out and Watkins continues to develop at his craft, he’ll be a big time prospect in no time.

Lincoln is a MAJOR stock-riser in this update. When I first watched Lincoln’s film, I knew he was a phenomenal athlete but he had yet to prove himself in the offseason, and knowing De La Salle, it was unclear if he’d be a cornerstone player on Varsity. Now, there’s no doubt. With Six D1 offers, Watkins has quickly become one of the highest-rising athletes in Michigan on a team that is almost a shoo-in to win another state title. I’m very excited to see what position Lincoln plays this coming season (QB? WR? LB?) though I know that whatever he plays, he will excel.
