STATE CHAMPIONSHIP PREVIEW: Schley County Vs. Bowdon

We've got a fantastic Single-A state title game this Thursday featuring two strong, well-coaches teams. Which players do you need to keep an eye on between these two small-town schools?   Let's take a look..   [player_tooltip player_id='321464' first='Zayden' last='Walker'] - ATH - Schley County   The top-ranked prospect in Georgia for the 2025 class, Walker is a tremendous athlete who can make plays on both offense and defense on any particular play. A possible 5-star in his class, Walker is physically dominant at linebacker at 6-foot-3 230-pounds and knows how to run the football on offense. It's easy to see why he's already a national recruit and he's had an outstanding sophomore season. At linebacker, Walker is a force on the edge and knows how to set the EDGe in the run game. He's long, athletic, gets off blocks, and knows how to make a play in the backfield. He may be the most talented player in the game, so expect him to be all over the place in this state title game.   Robert McNeil - QB - Bowdon   One of the more underrated dual-threat QBs in the 2023 class, McNeil is having an outstanding senior season and has shown to be one of the more athletic quarterbacks in West Georgia. He knows how to run and beat defenses with his legs, but he does have above-average arm talent as well. He's a leader, runs the offense effectively, and has them scoring plenty of points on a weekly basis. He's thrown and run for over 1,000 yards and has made it look easy at times. He's going up against a very talented Schley County defense, so he'll need to bring his "A" game in his final high school game.   [player_tooltip player_id='321423' first='Jalewis' last='Solomon'] - WR/DB - Schley County   Another two-way player for Schley County, Solomon is one of the top overall athletes in South Georgia and proves it time and time again. The 6-foot-1 185-pounder has tremendous ball skills and made play after play this year at receiver, catching 77 passes for 1,100 yards and 10 touchdowns this season. Defensively, Solomon has made 3 INTs on defense. He's an impressive four-star prospect already and known as one of the top wide receiver prospects in the 2024 class. Expect him to see lots of opportunities to make plays in his final game as a junior.   [player_tooltip player_id='329330' first='TJ' last='Harvison'] - ATH - Bowdon   One of the top two-way players in the Carrollton area, Harvison was the second leading rusher in his classification this year and one of the more productive backs in all of West Georgia. He's a tough runner, has quick feet, and burst down the field. He's a dependable defender, but they'll need him to run wild against an outstanding Schley County defense. The productive senior back has rushed 198 times for 1,607 yards and 19 touchdowns so far this season. He's rushed for over 100 yards in eight games and over 200 yards in three games this year. Look for him to run early and often in the biggest game of his high school career.   Clint Jackson - DB - Schley County   A tough, instinctive defensive back with ball skills, Jackson is a game-changer on defense who has picked off six passes this year in the secondary. He's a tough defender who knows how to tackle, but his ball skills and ability to read the quarterback make him one of the more instinctual and productive defenders in the area. If the ball is in the area, Jackson is going to make a play on it. IF he can have a big game against the Bowdon offense, Schley County has a good chance of coming out on top. LB Mason Daniel - Bowdon: 64 tackles   ATH [player_tooltip player_id='340538' first='Luke' last='Windom'] - Bowdon - Running/receiving threat   RB Malachi Banks - Schley County: 213 carries for 1,286 yards and 20 touchdowns.
