Lake County: Uncommitted ’23s You Need to Know

He was a sophomore making his first start on varsity and ended up finishing the game with 7 touchdown passes. After that game I had a pretty good feeling that Donohue would cement himself as one of Lake County's top 2023 prospects. He finished his senior year with 2,039 passing yards and 29 total touchdowns along with being named Grayslake North's all-time leader in passing yards, completions, and touchdowns. He possesses all the necessary tools to develop into a starting quarterback at the next level. Has above-average footwork and pocket presence and has an overall great feel for the position. An accurate thrower of the football with a very talented arm. He's a slippery runner who's physical enough to run it up the gut and has the speed to attack the edges and rip off long gains. Burkley finished his senior season with 79 tackles, 4 ints, 2 FR, and 1 TD, but even those numbers can't quantify his impact on the field. His versatility at the linebacker position is what separates him from most. He has good play recognition and can stuff the run with the best of them. His combination of size and athleticism enables him to excel in rushing the quarterback and he is more-than-reliable when dropping back in coverage. On offense he's so dynamic that all you really have to do is find a way to get him in space and the ball in his hands.
