Recruiting News and Notes 11-27-22

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The high school football season is winding down in the Natural State. However, we have plenty of recruiting news to keep an eye on this week. Plenty of recruiting visits are going this rivalry weekend across college football. Furthermore, plenty of Natural State prospects are going on recruiting visits and several have received scholarship offers over the course of this week.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='228033' first='Tayshawn' last='Edwards']-Wide Receiver-Warren-2027</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='228033' first='Tayshawn' last='Edwards'] is another in a long line of talented wide receivers to come out of Warren. He has excellent speed and can haul in any pass thrown in his direction. Lane Kiffin and his staff have already extended a scholarship offer to Edwards earlier in the year. Edwards had the opportunity to visit the Ole Miss Rebels this weekend. Keep an eye on Edwards over the next few years he has the potential to be a special player on Saturdays in the future.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='75137' first='Jabrae' last='Shaw']-Athlete-Little Rock Mills-2023</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Over the past three years, [player_tooltip player_id='75137' first='Jabrae' last='Shaw'] is one of the most consistent players I have seen. The young man is a playmaker on both sides of the ball. On the offensive side of the ball, he can make plays as a wide receiver or a running back. Meanwhile, on the defensive side of the ball he plays the defensive back role in impressive fashion. Shaw was able to visit the Colorado Buffaloes over the weekend. The team that lands Shaw gets a playmaker that you can line up all over the field.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='149580' first='Drake' last='Lindsey']-Quarterback-Fayetteville-2024</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='149580' first='Drake' last='Lindsey'] is a quarterback prospect that teams are going to want to pay attention to over the next few months. After a strong 2022 football season, Lindsey is a quarterback to keep an eye on. Over the weekend, Lindsey had the opportunity to visit the SMU Mustangs in Dallas. The SMU visit comes off the heels of a visit to Starkville and a visit to Knoxville. Lindsey's recruiting has the potential to blow up over the next few months.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='143614' first='Carter' last='McElhany']-Wide Receiver-Greenbrier-2023</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='143614' first='Carter' last='McElhany'] has lit up Friday nights over the past couple of years here in the Natural State. He has the terrific speed that coaches look for to get the opposing defense to stretch the field. Recently Missouri State extended a scholarship offer to McElhany. He added another offer over the weekend from Arkansas State. McElhany has the ability to play on Saturdays and with his speed and hands combination it would not surprise me to see it happen quickly.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='155329' first='Bryce' last='Perkins']-Quarterback-Van Buren-2024</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The Van Buren signal caller had a strong 2022 football season. Perkins is a prospect that does a great job of extending the play and keeping his eyes down the field. He has the arm strength to fit passes into some tight windows. Perkins is another prospect at the quarterback position to watch over the next few months. Last week, Morris earned a scholarship offer from Arkansas Tech. This week Morris proceeded to add a scholarship offer from Northeastern State University. Morris is a wide receiver with the ability to play on Saturdays. He has the route running ability and is a deep threat that opposing defenses must account for on the field. He is a wide receiver that is extremely versatile and can line up all over the field. Henderson Jr. earned a scholarship offer from the University of the South a week ago. Henderson Jr. is a steal for the school that signs him because of his ability to stretch the field vertically.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='259657' first='Jadyn' last='Johnson']-Wide Receiver-Van Buren-2025</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The honors for talented Van Buren wide receiver [player_tooltip player_id='259657' first='Jadyn' last='Johnson'] continue to roll in over the past few weeks. Earlier in the month, Johnson was invited to the National Combine to come and showcase his skills. The National Combine invitation came off of the heels of a visit to Oklahoma Baptist University. Johnson had the opportunity to visit Fayetteville and the Arkansas Razorbacks to cap off a very busy month for the Van Buren wide receiver.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph -->
