Millbrook was able to generate enough offense to win the game. The listed players’ performances caught my attention throughout the game.
Hillside
Wilson Kargbo Jr. – QB, 6’2″ 185. Wilson displayed calmness as he directed the offensive unit throughout the game. He displayed good ball velocity on his short and medium-range passes. Wilson tucked it and ran for yardage to avoid being sacked on a few plays. He was limited in his ability to generate points by Millbrook’s tough defensive unit.
Jimmyll Williams – RB, 5’9″ 185. Jimmyll displayed good balance and vision while running inside for tough yardage. He was contained for the majority of the game by Millbrook’s tough run-defense.
Ethan Hylton – G, 6’4″ 260. Ethan displayed good footwork and technique to control defenders as he opened lanes for the running backs. He displayed a solid base on while protecting the quarterback on passing plays.
Rayshone Alston – G, 6’2″ 245. Rayshone displayed good footwork and technique to control defenders as he opened lanes for the running backs. He displayed a solid base while protecting the quarterback on passing plays.
Nicholas Adams – C, 6’2″ 325. Nicholas displayed good footwork and technique to control defenders as he opened lanes for the running backs. He displayed a solid base while protecting the quarterback on passing plays.
Caleb Smith – G, 5’11” 270. Caleb displayed good footwork and technique to control defenders as he opened lanes for the running backs. He displayed a solid base while protecting the quarterback on passing plays.
Millbrook
Mason Fortune Mason Fortune 6'1" | 190 lbs | QB Millbrook | 2024 State NC – QB, 6’1″ 195 (No. 3 QB, No. 12 Overall). Mason displayed leadership as he directed the offensive unit throughout the game. He displayed good accuracy on the short and medium-range passes. Mason was contained on several series by Hillside’s tough defensive unit.
Xavier Pugh Xavier Pugh 5'10" | 190 lbs | DB Millbrook | 2023 State NC – RB, 5’10” 195 (No. 36 DB, No. 343 Overall). Xavier displayed good balance and good leg drive while running inside for tough yardage. He was able to gain additional yardage by driving his legs after initial contact was made. Xavier displayed durability and toughness as he scored all 3 TDs of Millbrook’s points that were scored in the game.
John Alarcon John Alarcon 5'6" | 175 lbs | RB Millbrook | 2024 State NC – RB, 5’10” 175 (No. 18 RB, No. 130 Overall). John displayed good acceleration into open lanes to gain yardage. He does not go down after initial contact is made. John plays will aggression and gives maximum effort on every play.
Ty Broughton Ty Broughton 6'2" | 180 lbs | WR Millbrook | 2023 State NC – WR, 6’2″ 180 (No. 23 WR, No. 238 Overall). Ty ran good pass routes and separation from defenders to make catches. He continued to fight for additional yardage after catches in the open field.
Nathan Leacock Nathan Leacock 6'4" | 200 lbs | WR Millbrook | 2023 State NC – WR, 6’4″ 200 (No. 2 WR, No. 6 Overall). Nathan ran good pass routes and good separation from defenders to make catches in traffic. He continued to fight for additional yardage after catches in the open field. The Tennessee commit was double-teamed for the majority of the game.
Blake Mobley – T, 6’0″ 220. Blake displayed good footwork and technique to control defenders while opening lanes for the running backs. He displayed a solid base while protecting the quarterback on passing plays.
Felix Waturu – T, 6’0″ 200. Felix displayed good footwork and technique to control defenders while opening lanes for the running backs. He displayed a solid base while protecting the quarterback on passing plays.
Jaylon Johnson Jaylon Johnson 6'3" | 275 lbs | DL Millbrook | 2023 State NC – G, 6’2″ 270 (No. 38 DL, No. 322 Overall). Jaylon plays on both sides of the ball for his team. He displayed good footwork and technique to control defenders while opening lanes for the running backs. He displayed a solid base while protecting the quarterback on passing plays.
Tyler Heggins Hill Tyler Heggins Hill 6'4" | 290 lbs | DL Millbrook | 2023 State NC – G, 6’4″ 260 (No. 29 DL, No. 168 Overall). Tyler plays on both sides of the ball for his team. He displayed good technique and footwork to control defenders while opening lanes for the running backs. He displayed a solid base while protecting the quarterback on passing plays.
David Santiago David Santiago 6'3" | 230 lbs | ATH Millbrook | 2023 State NC – TE, 6’3″ 230 (No. 9 ATH, No. 103 Overall). David plays on both sides of the ball for his team. He ran good pass routes and separation from defenders to make catches. He used his body to shield defenders to make catches in traffic. The Charlotte commit made a highlight reel one-handed catch along the sidelines for yardage.
