Nico Dunn Nico Dunn 6'0" | 190 lbs | RB Mountain Lakes | 2023 State NJ became a key cog for the Mountain Lakes offense, in a game that was sloppy with nasty conditions. Dunn is a bigger back who’s a shifty player that can deliver punishment and also showed off the ability to catch out of the backfield. He was one few bright spots for Moutain Lakes
If there was an MVP of the first half it would be Dzamba he made all of the key plays of defense for Moutain Lakes. As he had a key tackle for loss on 4th down, a sack on 4th down, and a forced fumble where he hustled down the field after a big run by Woodbury. His impact directly correlated to Mountain Lakes making it competitive in the first half.
Moore is unquestionably Woodbury’s best defensive player and he showed it in this game. His read-and-react ability was on display as Mountain Lakes Wing T tested this Woodbury defense. Moore had two punishing hits on back-to-back drives that deflated the Moutain Lake’s entire team and a crucial forced fumble where he put his stamp officially on the game. Moore is an instinctive linebacker who is a sure one-on-one tackler who will be taking his talents to Duquesne.
Reagan started the day off rough, fumbling in the midst of a big run. He didn’t let that stop him as he had a big second half rushing for over 200 yards and two touchdowns.
Reagan has exceptional contact balance on top of being a physical runner who can take it the distance. He displayed his talents all day as Mountain Lakes had no answer for him, specifically in the second half.
Solomon put intense pressure on the quarterback all game when Mountain Lakes decided they wanted to pass. He had a crucial quarterback pressure in the first half then opened the second half with a pressure and a sack on back-to-back plays. Solomon was one of many Woodbury defensive linemen who dominated in the state championship win.
Torres played solid coverage when Mountain Lakes was forced to pass. Torres put the icing on the win with an impressive pick-six that sealed the win for Woodbury. He played exceptionally on the edges as he played solid in run defense as a force player. Torres showed in this game why he currently has two Division 1 offers from Campbell and Temple.
Morton was a key cog in shutting down this Mountain Lakes running game. He was unblockable all game as he was a menace on the edge and the interior as not even a double team could contain him. He had a dominant performance on the defensive line in the final game of his high school career.
