I came back to Minnesota fresh and ready to rock this Saturday in Eden Prairie. I will be in attendance for week two and the rest of the fall season that My7on7 has put on.
POWER RANKINGS DEFINED
A few variables determine my power rankings are in order from most important (1) to least important (3)
1) Wins/Losses
The record, of course, leads the way as far as importance.
2) Points Differential
Some may think my second variable should be my third; here is why it is not. Points Differential points me a better picture of how each team played as a team, offensively and defensively working as one unit as a whole.
3) Points Scored
If the points Differential is the same for two programs, how do you break the tie? The total points scored do justice in that case.

THE PROSPECTS
Which prospects am I going to watch this week in the varsity division? Two names on both sides of the ball. I look forward to watching this week from each Division.
Champlin Park
Cameron Hammonds, ATH, (2021)
Edmund Ocansey, CB (2021)
UND Commit. Ocansey is a very long cornerback that has tons of length with a motor to run down any wide receiver
Lakeville South
Camden Dean, QB (2022)
Dean had a nice back to back weeks of 7on7 showings at the Pylon 7on7 tournament and the first week of My 7on7 last week. Under the radar quarterback in the 2022 class.
Chase Androff Chase Androff 6'6" | 230 lbs | TE Lakeville South | 2022 State MN , TE/DE (2022)
Androff is a terrific blocking tight end I have been waiting to watch in person for a while. Androff is a prospect that does something you can’t coach: blocks until the whistle is blown, which is why he is so dominant on both sides of the football for the Cougars.
St. Michael-Albertville
David Collins David Collins 5'8" | RB St. Michael-Albertville | 2021 State MN , RB, (2021)
An under the radar sleeper at running back for the Knights, Collins makes cuts in traffic to get upfield quickly. He can be an effective pass catcher too. Somehow only holds one Northern Sun offer from the Beavers of Bemidji State. A 2021 prospect that might have slipped through the cracks recruiting wise, I am looking forward to watching in person after, unfortunately, missing the Buffalo/STMA game last season.
Owen Vike, SS, (2021)
Vike has excellent awareness for the Knights at safety. Gives St. Michael-Albertville a decisive advantage in their secondary when an opponent throws deep at Vike. He plays very much like a basketball forward, protecting the lane. Vike also added significant value to the Knights on special teams last season.
Minneapolis Southwest
Jaden Reed Jaden Reed WR Minneapolis Southwest | 2021 State MN , WR (2021)
Reed may play in the secondary at the next level because of his hard-hitting, but he’s also a clutch deep ball wide receiver. I am looking forward to watching in person for the Lakers. Very high on the speed meter when he’s in pursuit.
Keandre Brown Keandre Brown 5'10" | 200 lbs | ATH MPLS Southwest | 2022 State MN , LB (2022)
Brown is a raw talent that clings to the football wherever it is. A linebacker I am looking forward to watching on Saturday due to his tough demeanor when he approaches the backfield. Looking forward to seeing how he does in coverage.
Blaine
William Fredrickson, ATH, (2021)
A complete mismatch on offense. Fredrickson provides such great versatility for the Bengals, so I’m so excited to watch him on Saturday. I have had many conversations about Fredrickson with other scouts on just how much damage he can do in so many different packages for Blaine.
Josh Schlangen, LB (2021)
Schlangen is another prospect I look forward to watching at linebacker on Saturday. The film will show mostly offensive tape, but Schlangen is a stud on the ball’s defensive side. Another player I am intrigued to see more in coverage scenarios as most of his linebacker film shows him blowing up the run.
Prior Lake
Tyler Shaver Tyler Shaver ATH Prior Lake | 2021 State MN , RB/SS (2021)
Shaver’s downhill running ability is something I will be watching on Saturday. Eval: Lots of spring in those legs for a 6’0, 205 pounds running back. Holds four Northern Sun offers, including one from the powerhouse in Division II, Mankato, and is another 2021 prospect that’s a fringe player that could benefit from 7on7 and a fall season.
Ryan Schultze, SS, (2022)
Schultze is a sleeper safety. I look forward to getting a first glimpse of on Saturday. Eval: Big time, wrap up tackler that has limited tape. Schutze also has a big bat on the ball with tangible measurables.
Centennial
Lance Liu, FB (2022)
Eval: An undersized fullback that might have more shift in his step you might be used to seeing at that position. I know that speed is shown off in Eden Prairie on Saturday and hope to hear people saying, wait, he’s the Cougars fullback?!
Zach Frank Zach Frank 6'2" | DL Centennial | 2021 State MN , DE, (2021)
Eval: Fearless defensive end that loves to blow up quarterbacks in the backfield. A consistent vision of exactly where the football is. Look for Frank to lock in on dropping back into coverage on Saturday as you can’t hit quarterbacks as he does in 7on7! Frank has grown an inch to 6’2 and now plays at a strong 235 pounds. Frank holds three offers in Division III, one from the WIAC and two from the MIAC.
Eden Prairie
Cade Kramer Cade Kramer 6'2" | WR Eden Prairie | 2021 State MN , WR, (2021)
Eval: Most recently seen on Jake Lemming’s sleeper of the week a few weeks back. He can grab a lofty range of balls with his glue hands. Solid measurables as a 6’1 wide receiver for the Eagles.
Nyle Dickel Nyle Dickel LB Minneapolis Washburn | 2021 State MN , LB (2021)
Has Dickel made a transfer to Eden Prairie this season from Minneapolis Washburn? Eval: Excellent vision on exactly where the football is. Dickel is a gobbler type linebacker that will make plays on the ball. 2-time all-district for the Millers. He has seen his recruiting blast off this summer and is now up to 11 offers. Mostly on Division II radars but has gotten an offer locally from Minnesota’s new Division I program in St. Thomas. I will be intrigued to see if Dickel did transfer as Minneapolis Washburn is also playing in My 7on7 this fall in Eden Prairie.
AAA
SMB Wolfpack
Trent Finney Trent Finney TE SMB | 2021 State MN , TE, (2021)
Eval: The film from his junior season, you will see what a great blocker Trent is, but that’s not all he can do. A prospect that has turned a corner this offseason working with his hands and improving his catch radius. His frame has gotten strong, too, pushing his weight up to around 240 pounds, which in my book is the ideal size for a college-level tight end. Brought in four touchdowns for the Wolfpack in their two games last week, all from up and coming QB Charlie Johnson Charlie Johnson 6'3" | 180 lbs | QB SMB | 2022 State MN in the 2022 class. Trent has gone from no interest in November 2019 to five offers on the given day with four Division III offers and one NAIA offer.
Michael Hall Michael Hall 6'1" | 220 lbs | LB SMB | 2022 State MN , LB, (2022)
Eval: Hall is a ball-hawking linebacker that is eager to get near the football every time. Hall is also a tremendous tackler with almost 60 tackles last year for the state runner up Wolfpack. Hall may be another linebacker from the Wolfpack you will see play at the Division I level. Hall got a handful of interest come in from the Big Ten, Ivy League, and Missouri Valley when September 1st hit for the 2022 class.
Rochester Mayo
Cayden Holcomb, ATH (2022)
Eval: Holcomb is a versatile prospect that can do a little of everything for the Spartans. Can grab a pass on all three levels but most effectively on getting critical first downs on screenplays. An under the radar prospect that can play at the college level.
Michael Mankaka, CB/WR (2022)
Eval: Mankaka is a very fluent pass-catcher offensively that I feel can be a stud in the Spartans secondary. His reliable motor in pursuit should give me an excellent first glimpse of this Rochester Mayo program that I look forward to watching for the first time on Saturday.
St. Francis
Alec Sandstrom, WR (2023)
Eval: A prospect that only gets faster with the use of the legs upfield. A tad bit undersized, but as just an incoming sophomore, his plenty of time to get that last growth spurt. Very deadly weapon on screenplays out of the backfield, so look for Sandstrom’s name to come up from St. Francis on Saturday.
Garrett Snyder, CB (2023)
Eval: In the only 10 seconds I could find on Snyder, he made an eye-grabbing tackle. We will look for a prospect on Saturday to see if he plays as big on that play as he does in My 7on7.
Eden Prairie Black
Nick Fazi Nick Fazi 6'1" | 180 lbs | QB Eden Prairie | 2023 State MN , QB (2023)
Eval: Shows off superior arm strength as such a young incoming sophomore. A QB that can also scoot with some finesse if not looking. Fazi played in a mostly backup role from what I saw this summer for the Hitmen bunch. I will look forward to watching Fazi on Saturday to see what he can do with more opportunities!
Jermell Taylor, TE/DE (2023)
Eval: From what I see from Taylor as a first look, is he has good vision and some raw talent. Taylor needs to develop better technique as a defensive end, as he needs to get lower to get some leverage on the offensive linemen.
Eau Claire Old Abes (WI)
Jack Redwine, WR (2022)
Eval: From the limited film I saw from Redwine, he looks like a bully at WR. Not the fastest guy on the field by any means, but with some leverage could get those extra yards the Olds need in 7on7 football.
Tom Schiefer, LB (2021)
Eval: Schiefer is a stout linebacker that might not have the ideal measurables, but a kid that drives a ball carrier to the ground. He has a rigid lower body and can push some weight on the squat rack at 335 pounds, which is also his deadlift.
Forest Lake Rangers
Caleb Kasa, QB (2021)
Eval: Kasa is a dual-threat QB that has some elusiveness in the run game for the Rangers. He doesn’t have the fastest legs on tape, but he can make some plays. Kasa also has above average touch throwing the football.
Eric Knies LB/WR (2023)
Eval: Knies is a very fluid tackler on film based on my first look at his game. As just a sophomore, he has the time to develop a more robust body to become an even more aggressive linebacker. Knies also plays wide receiver and special teams for the Rangers.
Hopkins Royals
Angelo Lockhart, DB (2022)
Eval: A flyer to the football and tough tackler as well. Not going to lie; I left so much more impressed on film than I thought I would be on my first look on Angelo Lockhart! Excited to see this flyer in motion on Saturday in Eden Prairie, as we will get to see more play from him in coverage. Under the radar prospect.
Basil Lulu, WR, (2022)
Eval: Lulu makes some excellent cuts when he’s running his routes for the Royals. Standing at 5’11 180 pounds, Lulu’s limited yet eye-opening film from 7on7 games and more is something I will be watching on Saturday.
Minneapolis Washburn
Mason Wille, RB (2021)
Eval: A very sneaky runner between the tackles, and that’s because of his size and speed. One of those prospects that lags a little bit when he gets the ball, but his acceleration is his 5’7 165-pound frame.
Tom Habel, CB (2022)
Eval: Undersized cornerback at 5’9 but the great downhill speed in the secondary. The best play on tape was on special teams, where I saw the rate against Minneapolis South.
AA
Waconia
Sam McEnelly, FB/LB (2021)
Eval: McEnelly is an absolute bully at fullback. It’s easy to see why he bullies people on the wrestling mat, too, as he was 27-11 individually for the Wildcats wrestling team last year in the 220-pound weight class. Winona State is getting an absolute beast that will pave the way to many touchdowns for the Warriors in the next few years. McEnellylso has good speed too!
Max McEnelly Max McEnelly 5'10" | 205 lbs | ATH Waconia | 2023 State MN , RB (2023)
This might the most fun tandem in the state to watch at running back/fullback in Sam and Max McEnelly Max McEnelly 5'10" | 205 lbs | ATH Waconia | 2023 State MN of Waconia. As just a freshman last season McEnelly had over 900 yards rushing and ten touchdowns on varsity for the Wildcats. When I watch Max, I get visions of former Eagan power RB Zach Zenner, a monster at South Dakota State, and had a few years with the Detroit Lions. I think McEnelly will have a little more pep in his step and is a better cutter than Zenner, but will be in the same wheelhouse at Division I level after a massive freshmen year. As to no one’s surprise, Max was a 2020 state wrestling champion following in his older brother’s footsteps on the mat. #1 running back in our 2023 rankings and #2 overall in the class.
Mahtomedi
Jacob Wynia, TE (2021)
Eval: When you watch Wynia’s game, you see just how much versatility he can offer. When in full pursuit, has one of the best first steps off the ball at a tight end in the state. The Zephyrs use him also in rushing attacks, which is when you watch on tape; I call it “bully ball” when you have a monster runner going up against a much smaller defense. Wynia needs to develop a little more as a blocker based on the film as I would like to see a more aggressive base in his blocks. Currently holds two Northern Sun offers from Minnesota programs, which I am sure he will add more to his resume as who doesn’t love a 6’5 tight end at around 220?!
Johnny DeVore, QB (2021)
Eval: DeVore made a variety of throws on all three levels. His film’s first play was an eye-opener for me makes his own Patrick Mahomes type play while falling out of bounds and throwing for a touchdown. I like DeVore’s touch on the football from 5-15 yards, as it looks like he is a natural thrower with just the flick of the wrist. I had no idea that DeVore was offerless to this point. However, he seems to be getting some definite interest from the Northern Sun programs in South Dakota.
St. Louis Park Orioles
McCabe Dvorak, ATH (2021)
Eval: Dvorak is a significant body for St. Louis Park. I look forward to watching it on Saturday. A massive target with great size at 6’2 220. He does not have the quickest feet I’ve ever seen but could be a reliable possession wide receiver at the next level when you need a big target to hit for a first down. Dvorak could also be a borderline FB/TE combo. McCabe holds one Division I offer with a swarm of interest from the Northern Sun as well.
Christian Arteaga Christian Arteaga 6'0" | 200 lbs | LB St. Louis Park | 2022 State MN , MLB, (2022)
Eval: This kid’s got a motorman! One of those players can wreak havoc in a backfield if he gets a step on the line. Vision is solid, and measurables are slightly undersized, but he has excellent momentum as an LB prospect.
Sartell Sabres
Ethan Torgrimson Ethan Torgrimson 6'0" | RB Sartell-St. Stephen | 2021 State MN , ATH, (2021)
Eval: Torgrimson is one of those bully type running backs I love to talk about on PrepRedzone.com. At 6’1 210, Torgrimson is a great runner between the tackles and can break tackles very well too. Runs in the high 4s and far as 40 times, but has is a prospect that gets going fast once he sees a lane. Torgrimson holds four offers currently from the WIAC and Northern Sun Conferences. Check out the recruiting report I did on Torgrimson a while back below!
320 Recruiting Report: Ethan Torgrimson/Sartell-St. Stephen (2021)
Blake Haus, TE/OL (2022)
Eval: What a hidden gem this kid is! Haus outstanding pull blocker on the Sabres offensive line. Excellent measurables at 6’5 250, and I can see why the Sabres could want to throw this kid the football would be an excellent play to run inside the 10!
Prior Lake #2
Dylan Hanson, DB, (2023)
Eval: I have gotten the chance to watch Dylan work this summer with his trainer Eric Harrison, and I’ve seen good work so far! On film, Hanson has excellent on-ball skills as a DB. A prospect that’s not afraid to get a hand on the ball and make a play. Hanson makes some good tackles on more prominent players, too, despite not being the biggest DB on the field!
Trace Bowman, TE (2023)
Eval: I learned about this kid a few weeks back at a private workout in Edina. He has grown with even more size than Hudl states to around 6’5 and looks to be a massive target for the Lakers’ future. You won’t be his hands much on tape, but just know that his hands are reliable from what I have watched. Look for this kid to be in our 2023 rankings in the coming weeks!
Fairbault Falcons
Elijah Hamm Elijah Hamm 6'2" | 195 lbs | DB Oconee County | 2021 State GA onds, RB, (2022)
Eval: Can anybody tackle this kid?! Hammonds tape shows how much of an elusive running back he is one I’m looking forward to watching on Sunday. A hard-nosed runner that is very quick between the seams. I look forward to watching him on Saturday.
Nick Ehlers, WR (2021)
Eval: Ehlers has a lot of acceleration in his game. Ehlers is a wide receiver that will play anywhere on the field. He plays very tall at 6’6 and gives the Falcons a massive option to thru to. Ehlers also plays some tight end and cornerback.
Eden Prairie Balon
Kody Balon, RB/WR (2023)
Eval: Balon has some zip in his game and has a knack for making players miss tackles. Measurables are kind of small for now, but the elusiveness this kid brings to the table is something to watch for coming out of the Eagles program.
Tommy Pederson, DE, (2023)
Eval: Pederson is a solid tackler with a quality motor. I’m looking forward to watching it. Linebacker speed at the defensive end position is always right!
St. Cloud Cathedral
Jack Pelzel Jack Pelzel 6'2" | QB St. Cloud Cathedral | 2021 State MN , QB, (2021)
Eval: Pelzel is a high IQ quarterback; we know a little bit about at Prep Redzone Minnesota. A top 25 QB in Minnesota, Pelzel makes most throws look pretty effortless and has the mobility to make a play himself if no one is open. Pelzel is a comeback kid, coming off a significant injury in the middle of his junior year to go back at the end of the season and contribute to the Crusaders. Pelzel is one of those kids that NEEDS a fall season to improve his under the radar stock. 4.0 GPA and has a 27 ACT score.
320 Recruiting Report: Jack Pelzel/St. Cloud Cathderal (2021)
Caleb Leintz, WR/P (2021)
Eval: Leintz won’t break any speed records, but he will get you first downs. Leintz is a prospect that will get extra yards with his cuts. Possession receiver that stands about 6’2 and also is the Crusader’s punter.
