Some of the top teams in the state had their season come to a close last Thursday and Friday in the Semis. They may not have an opportunity to play for a state championship, but that does not diminish their outstanding seasons.

Stansbury Stallions

The Stallions had quite the run in 2022, scoring over 600 points and allowing less than 235 in 12 games. Stansbury scored 72 points in their first game of the season and would score over 40 in 10 of their 13 games. Quarterback Ezra Harris is one of the state's most dynamic quarterbacks and decimated defenses with his legs and arm. Running back [player_tooltip player_id='406862' first='Mateaki' last='Helu'] scored at least two touchdowns in each of the Stallion's first five games while receivers Dylan Hamilton and Brock Wilson gashed teams through the air. Defensively [player_tooltip player_id='406962' first='Easton' last='Baker'] impressed as one of the state's top linebackers. Stansbury's season may be over, but what they accomplished will not soon be forgotten.

Bingham Miners

Bingham started their season 2-2 before going into a big game against American Fork. Coming off two straight losses, the Miners responded with a 28-10 win over a strong Caveman team. This win would kickstart a run of eight straight Bingham wins that included a sweep against a strong Region 3 gauntlet. Next, the Miners got two big playoff wins against Pleasant Grove and Lone Peak before their season came to a close against Skyridge. The trio of Dallen Martinez, Havea Fotu, and Carson Sudbury was one of the state's most proactive on offense. Defensively linebacker Kaden McBride and defensive back [player_tooltip player_id='407001' first='Cameron' last='Mamalis'] have combined for over 165 tackles.

Farmington Phoenix

The Phoenix were one of three remaining unbeaten teams in the state when they finally suffered their first loss in late September. Before that defeat, they were 7-0 with wins against teams like Pleasant Grove, Bountiful, and Roy, to name a few. They finished the regular season 1-2 so questioned presented about how far they could go in the postseason. After their first-round playoff bye, Farmington silenced the doubters with two dominant wins over Weber and American Fork. Their season may have come to an end against Corner Canyon, but the Phoenix had the Chargers on the ropes in the third and really tested one of the state's top teams. Quarterback Easton Wight and linebacker Luke Hansen led this team to a memorable season.

Orem Tigers

The Tiger entered the playoffs 5-4, but it was a deceptive four losses. Three of those losses came against some of the state's top five teams in Skyridge, Lehi, and Timpview, with the fourth coming against a tough Pleasant Grove team. With Orem sitting just over 500, this allowed them to fly under the radar, and once the playoffs began, they got wins over Uintah, Bountiful, and Alta. Tigers quarterback Lance Reynolds, tight end [player_tooltip player_id='406967' first='Roger' last='Saleapaga'] and athlete Feleti Iongi gave defense fits all season. Defsivieley linebacker Tim To'a left his mark every time he took the field. The Tigers lost to the Thunderbirds in the Semis but could find themselves back in 2023 with a talented group of players returning.
