Ian made his presence felt in the 2nd half of the game, being the driving force behind Team Baltimore’s late surge. With one of the biggest plays of the day, Ian took a carry 54 yards for the TD. He made a quick cut at the LOS to fine a gap, broke through some arm tackles and burst his way through the open field into the endzone to put his squad up 14-10. Later in the 4th he had multiple carriers to move the chains and fought to gain tough yards. He is a RB who runs hard with nice strength, he does not go down easy and can power through to open space. Ian also displays quick feet and shifty hips able to find the open hole and get downhill with explosiveness. With 27 total TDs on the year combined with the work he put on display Sunday, Ian had shown he is a playmaker a the RB position. Currently holding one FCS offer, Ian should be garnering plenty of attention from FCS/D2 schools as he would be a great addition to a RB room.

Ian is a well put together RB at 5’11” 192lbs. and runs a 4.5 forty, so he is the whole package. During the showcased he showed quick choppy feet and fluid hips with some good twitch during drill work. A downhill one cut runner, Ian will hit the hole and is capable of breaking a big run at any time. A nice combo of speed & power when he carries the ball. He can make you miss in space with subtle movements to create space; as well as break through arm tackles, keeping his legs churning, and fighting for extra yardage. A threat in the passing game as well, Ian is a more than serviceable receiver out the backfield and can line up in the slot as well. Overall, Ian is a versatile hard running RB with nice speed that should have some offers by this point. An FCS level back in my mind and he showed it at the NP Showcase that day.

Mauldin is a heck of a prospect, at 6’0ft 200lbs. He’s a physical back with breakaway speed, he is a big play threat with the ball in his hands. He rushed for 1,023 yards and 14 touchdowns this past season. He’s a really tough tackle for defenders, he runs violent and is great after contact. Expect Ian’s recruiting stock to raise pretty fast when his film hits the recruiting rooms.
