Past Analysis: On offense, Wyatt was their top option at receiver and his athleticism & speed helped him grab many touchdowns for the Metcalfe County squad. But on defense, Wyatt tied for first in the entire state for total interceptions at 9 (which included 2 pick-sixes). As a nickelback, Wyatt was able to lock down nearly every receiver he faced. His defensive movement aligning with the momentum of his assigned receiver is solid as he can position himself to the point where he gives zero space for the receiver to come up with the catch. Another great aspect of Wyatt’s playstyle at CB is his extremely fast reaction time. Once the ball leaves the quarterback’s fingertips, Wyatt can adjust his positioning to get to where the ball is and make a play if he is close enough. Sure enough, with his speed & agility, he can come up with many picks because of this. Although Wyatt may decide to recruit himself as a receiver, people should not sleep on his talent on the defensive side of the ball.
Current Time: Although I recently looked at Wyatt as a defensive back, I think his talent at receiver is just as good or even better than his abilities at DB. The senior had a great senior season on offense for Metcalfe County, grabbing 62 receptions for 932 receiving yards & 16 receiving touchdowns in 13 games played. Wyatt is an extremely quick receiver who is amazing at making difficult off-body grabs. Moreover, his athleticism enables him to take over the game for the passing offense as he makes it extremely difficult to make a stop on him. In the case of Wyatt, speed kills. As a defender, watch out when you’re assigned to Wyatt on a go route since he will most likely speed past you to come up with the grab. Blythe is another player who has not reported signing anywhere to play college football as of February 1st, but the talent is still there for him to pursue when the time comes.

Like Max above, Wyatt is also a receiver/CB for his high school team. Wyatt Blythe Wyatt Blythe 6'1" | 155 lbs | ATH Metcalfe County | 2023 State KY is a receiver that stood out to me during the regular season and he continued to impress during the playoffs. Although Metcalfe County was eliminated in the quarterfinals, Blythe still put up solid numbers, catching 13 passes for 123 yards and two touchdowns. He is a dynamic athlete that has shown the ability to make tough catches. When the ball is thrown in his direction, Blythe goes up and catches it at its highest point, no matter how tight the coverage is on him. Blythe is also very dangerous after the catch as he has shown that he can use his speed and elusiveness to turn short passes and screens into big plays. Wyatt doesn’t currently have any reported official offers but he deserves some attention from college coaches as he definitely has the talent to play somewhere at the next level.

The third receiver on this All-State team is senior Wyatt Blythe Wyatt Blythe 6'1" | 155 lbs | ATH Metcalfe County | 2023 State KY from Metcalfe County. Blythe is having an outstanding final season, finishing the regular season with 49 receptions for 809 yards and a 2A leading 14 touchdowns. He has very reliable hands and has shown the athleticism to go up and catch highly thrown passes on multiple occasions. Blythe is electric after the catch as he has shown the ability to use his elusiveness and speed to turn short passes and screens into long touchdowns. He also has played a huge role on defense, leading 2A with eight interceptions with two returned for a touchdown but I really liked what he showed on offense. Wyatt doesn’t currently hold any offers but college coaches should be giving him more attention as he has the talent to play somewhere at the next level.
