[player_tooltip player_id='498078' first='Zaire' last='Brown']'s name has floated amongst Pub circles for two years or so, I finally got the chance to see him work in person. Although this wasn't the outcome any West Philly prospect wanted, I still came away pleased with his versatility and usage. Brown primarily worked at running back, while also providing box safety/linebacker reps on defense, something I didn't know he was capable of doing. He registered tackles, was active in special teams, and showed off some of his athleticism on outside zone runs. [player_tooltip player_id='498078' first='Zaire' last='Brown'] will eventually make a college program pleased considering the wide spectrum of positions he can produce at. Good football player.rnrnRobotham and Presbery split quarterbacking duties, with Robotham, a sophomore checking in from time to time. The sophomore's efforts allowed West Philly to utilize Presbery's talents at wideout. The two connected on a beautiful seam throw that led Presbery perfectly. Presbery's efforts were felt everywhere, the senior secured a second-half interception in this one as well. #2 was the skill guy that was ready for the moment. Presbery needs to be of the rankings, every kid in this story needs to be re-evaluated. Especially Rhodes-Nelson and Patton. Despite the loss, no player impressed me more and left me excited to write this story than Jahleim Patton. His size had him sticking out like a sore thumb on the field. The massive defensive lineman was more than just show or talk, he was excellent in run support and often displaced his matchup. Long arms, no offensive linemen locked arms on this kid. His get-off and steer allowed him to stand up his matchup, all while having a free look into the backfield. Disruptive, solid motor, tone-setting. Very excited to speak on Jahleim Patton when talking with those who recruit Philadelphia. The young man looks like the type of athlete neighboring programs would want on their side of the ball.rnrn[player_tooltip player_id='160518' first='Jabriel' last='Rhodes-Nelson'] is the prototypical lean, athletic edge rusher, OLB that so many colleges covet at the next level. JRN didn't break this game open, yet it was nice to see him move off the ball and disrupt plays in the backfield. I think I couldn't two easy sacks that the senior registered in this one. Even with some highlight plays, I know this kid is just scratching the surface. Excited to see who eventually takes a chance on this 6'4 athlete.rnrnKhalil Matthews and Jabril Holmes each provided valuable two-way reps for West Philly. The coaching staff has built the program from the trenches out, they've got some serious size that needs to be accounted for if you want to come out on top. This marks the second time I've seen the kid throw, each time I've come away impressed.rnrnBreaking down Eaddy's performance, you have to start with his toughness in the pocket. Too many times I come across quarterbacks in the Pub who can't stand in the face of pressure and deliver a ball. Eaddy's eyes do not immediately come down when faced with pressure. The senior quarterback is willing to sit in the pocket and test DBs deep if he can locate his man downfield. A good start. Don't get it twisted, Eaddy can run and apply his feet, when he does so it's going to take two to three tacklers to bring him down. He won't wow with athleticism, yet he can get you a first down if the play presents itself. There were some in-rhythm throws too. Catch the snap, two-step, ball is out. I love decisiveness and timing out of my QBs, he showed some of that on slant and hitch routes. Eaddy connected with Quentine Wright deep on two occasions, both led to touchdowns. Very pleased with the quarterback's performance.rnrnQuentine Wright was the skill guy who stepped up for Mastery Charter North. As stated above, Wright was on the receiving end of both of Eaddy's touchdown throws. I caught the double move that freed him up on his last touchdown catch. He's got the stride to act as a vertical threat at this level. He also showed solid body control on a tough catch early in this game. That's high praise. The young man suited up in the second half, his presence was immediately felt on both sides of the football. A huge hit from his corner spot didn't surprise me, he brought the same energy against Lincoln. He came up big connecting with Eaddy late in this one to kill momentum that was building in WP's favor. Effort and motor, that's what stood out to me the most, a quality trait to stand out at. Flying around the field, Jones was in on almost every tackle, whether that be in the trenches or 10-15 yards downfield. Maximum effort from the former Northeast linebacker. He and [player_tooltip player_id='320960' first='Makhi' last='Bouie'] looked stout against the run. Much like Patton, Bouie and Jones impressed me in two different settings. about time they get ranked.rnrn[player_tooltip player_id='248155' first='Zymir' last='Laury'] played the run well from his slot corner position. I love that alignment for Laury, considering he has the skill set to run with guys downfield, while also being big enough to peek inside and help out against the run. Open-field tackles were made. Effort plays were made. He's another prospect, much like Rhodes-Nelson, that has yet to unlock his full potential.rnrnLast note is on Michael Henderson, at least who I believe to be Michael Henderson. He, along with SinQue Harris, made multiple stops along the interior of the defensive line.
